Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Creamy and large, light brown initial head. Excellent lacing. Mostly lasting longevity.Cloudy, thick, dark brown body. Aroma: moderate burnt malt, mild coffee, banana and bubble gum. Initial flavor: moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Final flavor: light sweetness, bitterness and acidic. Average duration. Palate: light-medium body, texture amid watery and oily, lively carbonation and metallic finish. No traces of wheat in the mouth, tasting much more like a Schwarzbier, with less pronounced sweetness. Not so much appealing a taste.8s

Bottle - Dark brown. Big beige/tan head. Low to medium carbonation. Medium to full body. Sweet, malty fruity. Lacking a little in complexity. No real bitterness. A little bland in the finish but still quite a nice beer.

Bottle. In a tall weizen glass, this is a dark brown colour with a thick billowing head, two inches tall. Aroma of banana, bubblegum, lemon, orange zest, some light caramel and bread. Mouthfeel is medium in body. I taste some caramel, bread, banana, clove, toasted nuts and light molasses.

Bottle. Pour was deep brown with a light fruity aroma. Toasted malt and a nutty character blended well with the light fruit and spice character. Good brew.

500ml bottle, 9C. Dirty brown with towering beige head. High remaining carbonation. Smells of mildly roasted malt with hints of nuts and earth. Mild but mouthfilling flavours - some fruit sweetness, some roasted malt and some wheat. A little watery and not particularly flavoursome, but that’s kind of the style.

starts off with an amazing light tan, thick airy head with good retention. lacing hit and miss it seems (draught). nice deep, hearty dark shade. some deep amber tones around the edges of the glass when held up to the light. smelled of dark fruits and a little bit of malts. very subtle coffee-ness. tasted of subtly sweet, toasted malts.

Pours dark brown with a fluffy white head. Strong caramel malt presence in aroma as well as the flavor. Slight smoke presence in the flavor as well. Light-medium body and a very easy drinker. Medium carbonation. Drank this with some homemade venison German sausage and it was outstanding.

Smells solidly of malt and breadiness. No tricks. Easy and dark, light on the edges shows the thickness of particulates. Pretty fantastic lacing, maintains even cover for quite a while. Smooth, rolling sweet malt and fizzy mouthfeel. This is easy drinkin. just a whiff of alcohol at the end of all that great mouth taste/feel.
