Jun 30, 2008 I wish I had drank this in the winter instead of summer. It warms you all over. I would have pegged this at an ABV of 15-16% instead of ten. Aroma is heady with alcohol, vanilla, plums, earth, and chocolate. Very warming taste, alcohol explodes in mouth and warms you all the way to your toes. Vanilla, molasses, caramel, plums, hops all swirl for attention.

Jun 28, 2008 ~Pours a nice red color (when held to light) with plenty of carbonation and thick creamy off white head.
~Very sweet malty aroma with alcohol and dark fruits.
~Sweet smoky malt flavor, caramel, raisin and wood.
~Full bodied, a bit chewy, alcohol tongue tingles. Great finish. Bitter and a tad salty. Alcohol leaves warming sensation throughout mouth.
~Very enjoyable. I wish this was easier for me to find in my area. I would love to try this on a cold winter night after a day on the mountain.

Jun 25, 2008 750mm bottle- pours a cloudy reddish brown color with a tan head. Aroma of caramel and brown sugar. Flavor is chocolate and some caramel and is quite warm to the palate. Chewiness was noted as this is not a timid beer. Once again Alesmith has delivered. Well done.

Jun 24, 2008 I actually had never had this until last night. $14; it better be good. Thankfully, it delivered in a major way. There are beers, and there are BIG beers, and this one is in the latter category by a landslide. Aroma is even thick, of molasses, cocoa, brown sugars, ash. Flavor demands a presence on the palate, almost chewy enough to eat. Very rich caramel malt profile with only a slight trace of peat (thank God). YUM!!

Jun 21, 2008 750 Ml Bottle-Pours a dark amber color w/a moderate, rocky, tan head. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavors of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, cane sugar, brown sugar, & smoke. This had a big flavor to it, really perked up as it warmed. Long, full malt finish. Best beer I’ve had from these folks, but I’ve still got a couple to go!

Jun 19, 2008 This was absolutely wonderful, finally a beer with some girth. You get so much out of the nose, toffee, caramel and just a hint of that campfire smoke and perhaps even a bit of tobacco and tar. All the things that delight you and tell you what will follow in the flavors. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, extremely well rounded and balanced.

Jun 17, 2008 There are few that can compare with AleSmith!!! This one is a deep bronze with hints of ruby and a caramel-colored head that leaves bits of itself on the sides of the glass. Aroma is molasses, toffee, brown sugar, cocoa and smoke. Taste has hints of oak, along with nougat, caramel, and chocolate. This one tastes like a Milky Way by a campfire. Thick, coating, sticky...and this is one you’re glad you had and want to remember!!!

Jun 13, 2008 750 ml split in pint glass. Rich dark reddish amber with lasting ring head and lace. Smoky brown sugar wood earth aroma. Smoky oaky brown sugar molasses sweetness, mild fruitiness, dry woodsy smoky finish. Full body and medium-low carb. Excellent in every way. YES!
