Commercial Description:
YuleSmith is a quenching, hoppy "double" IPA. Appearance: Clear copper color and a creamy beige head with good retention. Flavor: Starts out with a bite of hops, but a perfect balance of maltiness and a dry finish leave you thirsting for that next sip. Aroma: The aroma starts with a heady citrusy and floral feel, and a slight overtone of vanilla. Mouthfeel (body/texture): Smooth, medium-bodied. Warm mouthfeel from the high alcohol content. Feels lush and full in the mouth.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a long lasting white head. Fruity fresh hoppy grapefruit and pine needles aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a long hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with a long and very bitter aftertaste.

Bottle thanks to DuffManSW. Clear gold in color with a huge, meringue like white head that really hangs around for a while. The aroma is lush with evergreen and bright zesty citrus notes. The malt lends a subtly sweet toffee and biscuit layer to the aroma. Evergreen and juniper flavors jump out at first and quickly blend in with lots of fresh grapefruit and orange notes. Toasty and sweet caramel malt flavor rounds it out with some lingering honey and bitterness on the finish. The body is creamy with a medium viscosity and soft but plentiful carbonation.

22 oz. bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Pours a clear gold color with an inch-thick eggshell white head that laces the glass. It gets cloudier as it goes down, with a lot of visible yeast sediment at the bottom. Aroma of orange citrus, hops, caramel malts, vanilla, floral notes, and pine. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to that, but still has nice notes of orange and grapefruit citrus, caramel malts, floral hops, honey, pineapple, and pine. Some warming alcohol. Light-medium bodied, with a good bite from the carbonation, very crisp. Bitter and sweet all the way through, even in the aftertaste, which has hops and honey. Nice DIPA, though I would like to re-rate when fresher.

From bomber. Pours deep amber with a thick head Nose is full of pine and citrus. The citrusy hops come through strong. Somewhat thin, carbonated but well balanced. Alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle. Silly me, I thought this was a Christmas Holiday ale. Oh well -- I’m a couple months late for this summer beer. Nice pour of golden amber with a standing foam lid. The aroma is quite woodsy -- like dry pine needles ready to be ignited. This drinks with a wicked undertow of an alcoholic kick, but on the surface is a pleasantly hoppy little beer. The final flourish is almost furniture polish ... but that sounds negative when it isn’t. Nice. (#3783, 1/2/2010)

Ville elske at prøve denne øl frisk.

Thanks to rasmus B for picking this one up for me. pours a clear orange with a smooth lacing thick offwhite head. looks very good. aroma can be sensed 30cms awaay from the glass i just poured. strong flowery hoppy aroma, delicate, getting your attention. getting closer to the glass i get a near perfect strong pine and flowery hops combination with some malty sweetness thrown in. it could be a little stronger but what we have is hard to improve on. flavor is based in sweet malts, and with lots of hops added, bitter pine and faint grape dominates, the flowery hops are way in the background. flavor is more extreme hoppy than aroma, but stil very drinkable. In a way a "simple" Double IPA, but extremely well crafted and balanced.

Bottle. Pale golden, a bit cloudy liquid with a large, very white head. Aroma is very fruity and a bit sweet with notes of pine and resin. Taste is soft, fruity and very well balanced with some malt sweetness, a lot of tropical fruits and some pine. Fantastic.
