I suspect it wasn’t perfectly conditioned. Pale gold colour. Sulphur, and not much else, on the nose. Dry palate, but not that hoppy or bitter - just a touch of citrus. Clean finish, but a bit soft. I’m sure I’ve enjoyed this more in pre-RB days. Overall, an average session bitter. Cask, GBBF 2004, day 1.

RE-RATE 22/04/05. Cask (handpump), The Black Boy, Winchester. Much juicier and fresher than my previous tasting, which bears out my suspicion that it wasn’t in peak condition when I had it before. Quite fruity and flowery aroma. Plenty of hop bite coming through, but mellow mouthfeel. Slipped down very easily. Nice. Previous rating discarded.

One last visit to the Flower Pots whilst cheriton beers were still available and some had been pending a re-rate. An excellent session beer combining delicate flavours with lots of drinkability. 4.2
Oct 05 Cask conditioned @ Black Boy, Winchester. Perfumey floral hops and juicy malt. Quite simple but everything works together excellently. 3.8
Mar 04 Cask-conditioned at Flower Pot Inn. Flowery hop aroma with faint grassy and fruit notes. Hoppiness continues in the mouth with almost sweet full malty mouthfeel and suprisingly little bitterness. A good session bitter which could have done with a touch more bitterness for me. Must be sampled fresh. 3.6

Light brownish amber colour with a light head. Good flowery aroma and nice hoppy bitternes with a good longish finish. I really enjoyed this pint, stopping off on the way to Bognor Regis which is crap. Maybe the proximity of visiting the in-laws made this last pint ever more tastier, but i think my opinion remains objective. I can easily imagine having several of these in a night. Good, typical english session bitter imdownthepub (5354), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Light brown to Golden beer with fluffy white head. Highly hoppy nose leading to a good balancing tasty malt. Hoppiness follows through to the aftertaste with a sweet peppery feel. Great session beer.
