Commercial Description:
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Medium bodied, w/ ashy, malt flavor and a balanced hop bill. Above average overall with interesting complexity, but something about the flavor still tastes a bit chalky-smoky to me. At least its unique.

12 oz. bottle- Pours copper red with a thin head, lacing is average, the aroma is creamy vanilla, very pleasing. The flavor is malt with a little hop kick after the swallow, it is also very smooth with vanilla flavor, why does Bud have to own this very interesting brewery.

On draught. Light copper pour with a thin fizzy white head. Aroma of sweet malt and hops. Even, medium-light bodied taste of sharp caramel and citrus. Smooth finish with a hint of vanilla that masks the higher ABV.

On tap in some casino in Las Vegas. Okay, it looked smelled and tasted like any other pale ale with some notable bready sticky notes. Not really clean tasting. Okay.

12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, copper colored body with a finger-width, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Cool color for a pale ale. Aroma is nice. Some caramels and sweeter pale malts with a nice toastiness and hop backing. Woody, floral oranges and mango with a touch of bread. Flavor is more the same. An even balance of caramels, sweeter pale malts, toasty grains, and fruity hops. Oranges, mangos, and a pinch of tropical fruitiness with a light woody biscuit. Finishes with a nicely peppered, herbal bitterness and a fairly lengthy aftertaste. Light to medium, smooth body with a light carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool pale ale. Very well balanced with an easy drinking body. Not too sweet, not too toasted, not too fruity, and not too bitter. I liked this one a lot.

[Bottle] Pours a light amber color with some haze. Moderately hoppy aroma with amber malts in there as well. Some sweet bready and caramel notes in the flavor. Moderately hoppy finish with a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Doesn’t taste like a straightforward APA, which made it a bit more interesting to me than it otherwise would have been.
