Commercial Description:
A smooth dark ale with hints of caramel and roasted nuts. This fullflavored English style Brown Ale perfectly balances the bitterness of the hops with a sweet malt base. "Why have a ten... when you can have THE ELEVEN!"

Contract brewed for Native Brewing Company.

Bright chestnut. Slightly toasty nose. Palate is nice - some nutty notes, hints of cocoa and accents of chocolate. Fairly complex, rounded character with earthy hops.

Had this in Lauderdale and was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn’t go so far as to say "full flavor" but it does have a nice hops/malt balance. Better than the other local choices I sampled.

Thanks daknole. Clear, medium brown pour with an abundance of beige head, generous lace. Aroma smoke, nuts, somewhat bitter. Flavor is built around bittersweet malts, but more sweet than bitter, big on the light caramels here, also touches of cider, brown sugar, pecan. Thin to medium body, but not at all watery. Nicely drinkable.

Thanks to daknole for sending this along with several other beers in a recent trade. I’ve been drinking them as the last days of summer fade away in a change of pace from huge beers. This one was solid enough that I’m going to have to go against the grain. At its heart it might only be a brown ale but it is well done enough that it could be a daily drinker.

Aroma / Appearance - The reddish brown body was dark yet still let through a trace amount of light. A little watery it still made its presence known nonetheless. The nose was just what I expected from a simple brown ale - gingerbread and dark iced tea. Light with only a hint of malt it was easy on the nose.

Flavor / Palate - The mouthfeel was more carbonated than I thought it was going to be. After this nice discovery came malt, a trace of bitterness like that found in an iced mocha and then a fast fade. I wouldn’t have thought to seek this out but it was a great find. The hoppy finish gives it enough character to set it apart from the crowd.

Bottle: Poured a brown with a creamy off white head. The aroma is malty wth some sweetness sorta similar to a chocolate. Taste is malty with some hop to it.

Bottle at GOBF ’08...pours brown with a very generous, fluffy beige head. Nose was toasted malts, caramel, some toffee notes. The beer was moderately sweet from the malts with notes of caramel, toffee, maybe a little coffee and nuttiness. It was very well balanced and easy to drink. Smooth on the palate, with a sweet, dry finish.

caramel, earthy, flavor is kind of faint, but what flavor there is was good. Liked this enough to carry in my store: The Fresh Market in Boca Raton, FL Revised review: I had to come back here and re-rate. I guess it had a lot to do with what I’m eating with the beer.....this time around I definately taste a lot of coffee and the brew has body on the tongue with a good carbonation. I originally rated this a 3.3 and it’s since grown on me even more. Don’t be suprised if I return here yet again! $8-$9 a six pack in Boca Raton. Revised again (11/06) Sadly, I had to knock this beer back down to fit into place with my ratings, but I must stress that this is a great brown ale and deserves a high rank within that catagory if there was such a thing.
