Pours a cloudy light brown with a thick white head. aroma of sweet malt and citrus. Flavor of caramel malts, light fruits, and citrus. This has a nice malt presence with prickly, spicy hops in the finish. Chill and easy drinking. I liked the addition of cascade hops to this beer--very tasty!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Leafy, spicy hops and relaxed caramel malts forge this quenching pint of Americanized ESB.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam laces around the cloudy amber.
-Base cereals offer plenty of flavor and levelled sweetness.
-The leafy hoppiness provides calculated bitterness.
-This is absurdly drinkable; and to say some need to mail in their brews because that’s "what people want". David Wollner does exactly the contrary and his brews are still poundable and quite accessible to neophyte palates.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2007 On cask at the brewpub. Clear orange with a white head. Lightly sweet malty nose, some herbal hop and light nuttiness. Medium to full bodied. Rather hopped up for the style, it works well - sweet malt with a penetrating nutty bitterness. Good stuff! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2006 Im thinking my pint might have been from the bottom of the keg or something, bc this was very cloudy light amber/deep gold with a thin white head. Aroma was light herbal hops, tea, with some nice american citrus hops. Flavor is actually very big for such a light beer. The hops hit your tastebuds hard, throughout and leave with a harsh bitterness which I liked. Like most of thier beers, this one seems to be about the hops, so the malts take a back seat, and just provide a bit of a sweet backbone. Maybe the extra cloudiness of the yeast provided a nicer mouthfeel, but this was very full bodied and ultra-smooth. Very nice. Cottrell (72), Connecticut, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Pours a hazy amber yellow with a thin thick head, that leaves great lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, grapefruit, orange peel, and floral notes. Flavor starts with some light sweetness and some nutty dryness, followed by some sweet grapefruit, bitter orange peel, and a dry piney finish. It’s like a cascade tea, drinkable beyond belief.
