Another so-so release from Rock Bottom in Cincinnati I do not know why I hold out hope they have anything solid. Going in I was under the impression that a good Christmas ale or at least an imperial stout was on tap. Instead it was the five usual beers and one winter warmer. Fortunately at least one was a special and thus not full price.
Aroma / Appearance - Cloudy orange with a slightly off white head the wheatiness of this was evident by the unfiltered appearance. Cloves, yeast, orange peels, lemons, and banana were nice but unlike other wheat ales it just did not do it for me despite being fairly bright and vibrant.
Flavor / Palate - Fluid with a blend of banana and yeast swirled into orange marmalade it has a warm touch. The white bread finish bumps it down a notch; a bit more depth would have been nice here. Overall though this is more of a happy hour special than something I would pay $5 a pint for around Christmas time.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Pours a very hazy light yellow with a big white head. Aroma and flavor were both more like a hefeweizen than a wheat ale, with banana, clove, citrus, and wheat. Smooth, medium-full bodied, wheaty and kind of bland. Most of Rock Bottom Cincinnati’s offereings are pretty pedestrian, and this one is in their lower tier. decaturstevo (2182), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Fruity flavor and corriander with a bit of a bitter finish. good carbonation and light to medium bodied beer. Certainly smells better than it tastes. Nubtail (14), , Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2008 I wandered into Rock Bottom after a freezing shopping trip and immediately ordered the first beer I saw. It was delicious and gave me something to concentrate on while a local drunk sang into my ear about Ohio State football and his buddy’s mishaps after a night of drinking. It’s not a strong wheat ale and has more of a fruity finish than I’d expected. I usually order this any time I go into Rock Bottom, though for whatever reason it always tastes better in the winter. tympanic (56), Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Wheat Ale? This beer tastes strongly of German hefeweizen, with the typical notes of banana, clove, citrus. Impressively smooth, without sacrificing all of its carbonation. On tap May 2008, Cincinnati. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2008 Light hazy yellow color, with beige head. Aroma and flavor is citrusy with some spice. I don’t drink many hefes so I’m not the best to judge but I thought it was pretty good beer. AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Pours a opaque light yellow in color with a nice head on top. Smell is wheat with some nice lemon zest coming through as well. Taste is much the same, and I have to say the lemon flavor is the only thing saving this beer and makes it drinkable.
