Ingredients: Water; malts: pils, caramel, roasted, chocolate, rye; hops: sladek, chinook, amarillo, columbus; dry hop: amarillo, chinook; top fermenting yeast.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2023 Can from Foeders, drunk to celebrate a 4 ton cistern being buried in my yard. Yes i can water my hops plants all summer, and when the apocalypse comes i have brewing water. Very dark, with a large light brown head of various sized bubblies. Nose is very roasty, hints of brown sugar and citrus, a bit of pine. The flavor is really nice: toasted, coffee, malty, some resinous lemony notes. Not too dry, but enough black malt and hops to balance the moderate body. Not as much hop aroma as many black IPAs, more of a hoppy stout: right on!

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2021 This bottle is coming from the sterk, Amsterdam, during my last trip in august 2020. Opening it yesterday with my wife, at home, Epalinges. There is a black and opaque body, average carbonation, white and brown foam. A pleasant and generous black ipa, I have found the note of rye rather discreet but it is giving a side smooth and bready with an aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dry, presence of hop at the final, syrupy, simply good.

Bosskie (1281) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 8, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 8, 2021 Pitch black, transparent with brown highlights, weak off-whitish head. Smell is deliciously black and dry with lots of ash and hoppy bitterness. Metal, mint, subtle milk chocolate, chewy grain. Taste is rather watery and subtle, smooth and clean with minimal bitterness. Not the bitter overkill I was expecting. Finish is ash and lightly astringent. Quite elegant and very drinkable. Extra points for the subtleness!

DijkBier (3372) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 22, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 22, 2020 Funny, the original label text about coffee and passion fruit is totally changed into chocolate, caramel and hops. And so it is. Bottle pours opaque deep black with a brown head; decent retention. Aroma offers indeed chocolate and caramel tones, next to hoppy senses. Taste is mild dark-bitter and moderate sweet, with a lasting aftertaste that trends towards mild coffee. Firm body. Nice dark IPA, and not too bitter.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2019 On tap at De Kaapse, pours black with a small photo brown head. Aroma brings out earthy rye, toasted malt, and some piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of earthy hops, piney, spicy rye, and medium roasted malt. Earthy, roasty and hoppy, all in good balance. Excellent.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2019 33 cl. bottle @ de Zomer, West-Terschelling. Pitch black with a small beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate and Cherries in the aroma. Taste is medium bitter with a long bitter finish, highlighting the cherries again.
