UPDATED: FEB 23, 2023 In einem helleren Bernsteinton und mit übersichtlicher Schaumkrone finde ich das Wagner Märzen vor. Die Duftprobe bestimmen dichtes toastig-karamelliges Malz und eine mildaromatische feinwürzige Herbe. Der niedrig gespundete Einstieg liefert karamellig und toastmalzig das erwartbare märzengerechte Malzspektakel. Dabei ist es sortentypisch füllig, aber erfreulicherweise nur wenig süß. Ursächlich für diesen Umstand ist wohl vor allem eine hopfenwürzige Herbe mit dezenter, aber prägnanter Orangenschalenbittere. Die milde Rezenz macht dieses vollmundige fränkische Märzen im Trunk wohltuend weich und entsprechend leichtläufig. Den Schlussakzent setzt eine safte würzige Hopfenherbe, welcher sich ein schwächelnder Nachtrunk anschließt. Somit handelt es sich um ein typisch fränkisches Festbier, welches nicht nur satt malzig, sondern auch solide gehopft auftritt.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2022 Bottle at Ambasada. Golden body, white head. Malt, heavy aroma, rye bread mostly. Strong maltiness, rye bread, light honey, ending a bit dusty. Okay. I can se it rocking more fresh.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2022 500 ml from bottle at the Isar river. Grassy hops, zesty notes, hay, some sourdough, some metal. Dry hoppy bitterness, some malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonated, dry hoppy bittersweet finish. A very crisp and drinkable Märzen. Nice!
