ABV: 10.0%. Clear medium to dark amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, wood, oak, vanilla, alcohol - brandy, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, caramel, sweet malt - honey - dried fruit, alcohol, vanilla, barrel, vanilla - barrel - oak. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20200118]

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2019 Refrigerated 12.7 oz. brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Translucent dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, medium body, very little carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is dark fruit, caramel, oak, and brandy.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2019 Rami Rami is drinking a La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch #16 by Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven at Powiśle Landryny mocno, owoce (jablka mocno), susz, troche kandyzowanych, slodkie, gladkie i nieco syropowe, alko schowane. Klasa piwero, ze 3.9?

Couleur du cuivre foncer avec un grand col qui laisse les belles dentelles. L'arôme du sherry et fruits mûrs avec un peu de vanille. En bouche c'est sucré, mais bien équilibré avec les autres goûts.

Robe brune mate, très trouble, beaucoup de levure en suspension, assez fine. Aucune carbonation ni mousse. Nez semblable à de la sauce soja ! Légèrement salé, fruits secs, bois très présent. En bouche, le sucre est présent mais pas ultra dominant (comme l'alcool), assez subtil. Le bois se sent, et des notes de sherry tapissent le palais. Aucun houblon, mais une légère astringence. C'est étonnement doux pour la force annoncée. Très agréable et se boit plutôt bien, à tester au moins une fois, même si je n'en boirais pas tous les jours.
