This summer ale did not speak to me as a summer muse. More like a bored whisper lingering in the corner of a stuffy room waiting for summer to pass into the glory of September.

Tap at SPH. 8.21.06. This was summery. Various flavors wanted to break through all over, but were restrained or refrained. A tease. Decent

Tap at SPH. pale golden colour, white head. Aroma shows clean, lean pale malts with a hint of honeyed sweetness, noble/floral hop aroma, no grassiness. Flavour is okay if a bit metallic. Assertively bitter finish. As it warms up a bit, the hops become a bit more expressive and the metallic notes dissipate. Some lingering breadiness that I quite enjoy. Quaffable.

Tap @ Blind Tiger. I guess I understand the need to make this for the people that don’t know any better in the Hamptons but this stuff shouldn’t leave the Hamtons, especially to rear it’s head at the Blind Tiger, of all places. Too light which I would assume is the angle, given the name. I just don’t get it.

A summer offering from SPH. After the saison, anything else would probably disappoint, and so this does. A very light yellow color with a low level of carbonation apparent. Quckly fizzing white head, some element of lace. Grainy, grassy aroma; ;light malts and hops. Crisp tasting, very light. Good malt body, nice crisp hop balance. Earthy undertone and crisp dry finish. Nothing to write home about, but a nice drinkable summer ale.

Probably the best Kolsch I've had. Very good. Golden ale aroma. Well-hopped, some graininess, orangey hops, lightly sweet golden ale. Average appearance. Longish Saazy finish, going edgy. Good mouth. On tap, David Copperfield's NYC.
