Flavor is rather hoppy but not overly so, some citric bite. Malts are quite big and soft, rather doughy, some caramel sweetness. If anything, this is a somewhat over-malted IIPA, still good, but I’d like it to be bigger.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle (from notes 12/07). Pours amber with a medium sized off white head. The aroma is malty with a hint of yeast. The hops are more piney than anything else. The flavor is bitter and aggressive on the tongue. Flavors of chewy toasted malts, honey, pine, some citrus and floral hops as well. There is a split top wheat bread character that comes through as it warms. Dry bitter finish. This was solid fresher, but changed as it aged quite a bit. Hophead22 (1149), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2008 This is an 06 vintage, so take the rating with a grain of salt. I’m sure it isn’t the same beer. Pour is copper with a nice head...good lacing left behind in the glass. Aroma is odd...hops, malt and cedar? Really, smells woody. This is very bitter...astringent and dry. This beer was probably really good when fresh, but hitting the average mark now. SacSirPlato (19), New Buffalo, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2008 A little one-dimensional. Big, floral and citrusy hops on the nose. Pungent! Nice! Impressive! Delicious hop flavor. Bitter, citrusy and lively carbonation. Nice, but nothing new to this palate. Definitely an enjoyable, unique brew, but doesn’t really break away from the pack in any significant way. mistersinalin (380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Nice smell of pine, citrus, biscuit and caramel. Nice smell, just doesn’t shoot out of glass like I had hoped. Starts out with caramel but quickly pine and citrus take over. Pretty nice, but could be better. Low carbonation and medium bodied. Pretty good and would have it again, I just wouldn’t go way out of my way for it. dm9831 (1201), Monee, Illinois, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Bottle thanks to ogglethorp. Nice amber pour with big off-white head. Citurs and bready nose. Great big hoppy bite up front, with orange peel all over the tongue. Nice mouthfeel, that really sticks to the palate. Very bitter, yet there is still a nice carmalized sweetness from the malt that shows towards the finish.
