Malty, slightly smoky nose with notes of buttered popcorn, dried fruit and a touch of smoked malt. Malty, smoky taste with canned fruit, smoked ham, popcorn, apricots and a slight acidity. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Smoky and fruity, with a touch of popcorn - weird, but tasty. Quite nice.

Bov (14982) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAY 20, 2014@Moeder Lambic - cloudy dark brown beer with a long lasting beige foam; light initial woody notes, fairly malty tones under the tea; fresh with notes of red fruit marmalade (don’t really feel the smokyness); medium to full-bodied; velvety and tasty; moderate carbonation, long finish of tea, red fruits and more woody notes; the smoke is more apparent in the finish where light corny tones can also be met - elegant
tom10101 (6528) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 4, 2014On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas during St-Bon-Chien World Tour. Hazy/murky dark amber/orange with a medium beige head and little lacing. Aroma is mild with smoked tea (less than the regular version), light peated notes and floral presence. Taste is also of smoked/peated notes with a light acidic presence from the barrel that doesn’t hinder the beer but doesn’t enhance it either. Light body (a tad lighter than the regular one). Moderate carbonation. It’s a good beer but I prefer the regular one because the barrel hide the smoke component a little and make the mouthfeel thinner and less creamy. Still tasty and drinkable.
