| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear maroon with a half finger beige head that faded quickly into a soapy layer that resulted in spotty lacing. Nose is malt, roasted nuts and light coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma with an added mild citrus hops coming through in the finish. Medium mouth feel. Decent brown ale. SamGamgee (1629), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2009 12oz bottle. dark brown with a lasting beige head. Sweet caramel, earthy and lightly roasty chocolate aroma. The flavor has nice roasty chocolate bite, but this is too overshadowed by a candy malt sweetness that could use some more bitterness of roast to balance. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Alright stuff, but the sweetness becomes overbearing by the end. milljam (615), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Nose is pretty unimpressive. Some malt, roasted caramel, burnt biscuit present. Flavor is solid, with chocolate, biscuit and caramel being the predominate flavors with some underlying hints of roasted malt. Body is a bit thin. All in all, a decent brown. lalu (25), Morin Heights, Quebec, Canada

Dark amber to brown color with very thin head.
Taste is somewhat watered down but i still get some of the malt and roastiness. Not much bitterness.
Palate is a bit thin for my taste with average carbonation.
To me this is an average brown ale but still pleasant to drink and a change from all the heavy beers i usually prefer.
OK beer...

Not flawless, but this makes a great session beer due to it’s smoothness and relatively low alcohol content. A great ale to drink out at a party or pub, or during a 2-3 hour backgammon session. Thanks Lost Coast.
