Slightly darker than most wheat beers. Taste slightly of apple dumplings, fruity doughy feel. Excellent. BBB63 (4350), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2010 Bottle and served in my Ayinger Weizen glass: Pours a light chestnut brown with a lovely beige creamy head which left excellent lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of bubblegum, clove, banana, lemon and wheaty weizen vapours along with a roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, walnut and bready dunkel notes. The taste is a very balanced sweet and nutty malt profile with noticeable spicy and fruity undertones. A bit of a mineral and metallic note about the finish but not too distracting. The mouth feel is above average for the genre, a bit oily and chewy with a fair amount of lively carbonation as well. Overall among the better example of the style, shocked I had not rated this before. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Aroma: Ahhhh! this is dunkel weizen! Clove is huge, and banana behind it, with traces of grapes and melons and berries, too...a beautiful mix, really, and the sort of thing you only find in beers of this kind. Reminds me of why I like the style so much. Masterful.
Taste: mmmm...there’s a lot to talk about...bubblegum, banana, spices, clove, dark fruits, ...but still quaffably refreshing!
An excellently sessionable brew, you can take several in all night long,
classic representation of the style.
Tasty, and quenching...gotta love it!
Lightish body, lightly spicy finish, rich and delicious.
Loveable mouthfeel, lushly carbonated, great flavor, wondrous drinkability. Class act, all the way.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Crowned by a priapismatic froth, the turbid liquid glares with the dull orange of a gibbous autumn moon hanging heavy on the horizon. By titling the glass, I cause finely-beaded lace to hover hestitantly and then retreat with the lethargy of a deflating blimp. Inhaling sets the sinuses aswirl with a Belgian-ish bouquet of phenolic spice, yeast, honeydew, and pistachio. Second pour, with lees, produces even aromatics; and almost barnyard tang, tempered by gardenia and marigold musk. Rich and spicy flavors abound with honeyed sweetness, bread dough, pine nuts, black pepper, and ripe orchard fruits. Citric tartness and prickly carbonation relieve the creamy, Rubenesque mouthfeel. Enchanting aftertaste evocative of fenugreek, Twinkies, and sea air. Weissbier at its finest!… high praise for a style I am not normally enomored of. Falconseye8 (526), Cartersville, Georgia, USA

Very good beer. Not too bitter. Presense there but just right. This is a keeper. I will stock this. JoeMcPhee (5156), Jackson Heights, NY, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2006 500 ml bottle. Deep orange-brown beer, very cloudy with a thick white but fast-fading head. Aroma is initially fruity, with sweet plummy/cherry maltiness, special B notes overlaying a sweet clove/nutmeg spiciness. Initially comes across as a belgian dark. Very toasty. As the temperature comes up, the normal weizen banana notes come forward along with a heavily toasted malt aroma. Very wheaty. Orange/lemon citrus. This is like two beers in one, both of them delicious. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Hazy reddish golden with nice foam. Citrus, banana wheat aromas, with a yeasty, doughy flavor. There are touches of clovey spice, and banana as well. Drank this after being outside on a hot day and it really hit the spot.
