Commercial Description:
Brewed to survive the voyage from England to India, this medium gold colored ale has a very assertive bitterness to create a decidedly hoppy pale ale

This is an average IPA. There is not much hoppy aroma, as it smells slightly sweet. It does have some noticable hop flavor upon first drinking it. The body of the beer is rather light for an IPA, as there really is no hint of malt to balance out the hops. It is bitter and hoppy, but almost wattery at the same time. You could probably drink a ton of these, as it does not fill you up.

On tap. A very nice beer overall. Poured a dirty amber/gold color with a small white head. Aroma was quite strong with citrus/grapefruit rounded out with a bit of caramel and fruit. Flavor had a strong hop presence. Tasty too. Alot of citrus. Flavor lingers for a while. Impressive effort.

Some oddly downer ratings for this thing. I thought the nose was overly dry but sufficiently dank; the color made me want to slam it - nice drinkable orange gold; the flavor was a nice creamy shroud over its ample hop character, and though it didn’t take full advantage of botanicals or citrus notes that it was very good. I don’t know, maybe I have the lowest standards.

A: The pour is gold in color with a minimal white head. Perhaps a ring around the top. S: A decent but not amazing nose on this beer. Grapefruit and a slight pine are the sum of the hop aromas with some caramel malt filling in the rest of the sniff. T: The flavor is an improvement over the nose. Good grapefruit flavor with a decent array of floral hops as well. There is some definite caramel malt in the middle with a decently bitter finish. M: Medium in body and maybe a bit light on the carbonation. D: Perhaps if we weren’t so spoiled in terms of IPAs, I would think this one was better. That said, we are spoiled here in Southern California and this is just a middle of the road (maybe a bit better) example.

Small white head, nice lacing. Floral aroma, taste and appearance is very much like a SNPA clone.
