COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tempus is an old world sour saison brewed & blended using the production processes of yesteryear. No two blends will taste exactly the same. Blend #2 is a blend of young Tempus with 33% oak aged saisons. It is softer in acidity than Blend #1 and has a nice tartness up front followed by notes of apricot, bitter orange peel & oak from the Zinfandel barrels. It finishes dry with a soft oakiness.
Released 8/30/14

On tap at the brewery in a sample glass: Pours cloudy golden with a nice white head. Aroma of oak, wine, and tart notes. Taste is super tart, vanilla, grapes, and a little sugar, much less than Tempus 1. Medium body, nice carbonation, awesome sour.

Bottle... Pours hazy and golden with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The aromatics are bready with a moderate measure of phenolic spiciness and some light notes of stone fruits. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor is mildly tart, bready and lightly fruity with a hint of yeast-driven, clove-like spiciness.

Bottle shared by Collin. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Mild sour citrus aromas. Super mellow sour citrus highlights. Not overly complex but tasty. Aberage body and mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of light tartness / sourness, some pale and caramel malts, light notes of oak, hints of fruit, and some light spiciness. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A really good beer.

draft and bottle, YEA! Tons of complex nuances of malts, bugs, tartness, sweetness, hops, fantastic, perhaps one of the best from these guys.

Bottle blend 2 batch date 7/31/14.! Pour has a copper golden color with a thin layer of white head. Aroma has some funky yeast, sweeter than most of there beers, white grape, lemony touches, mild oak, and straw. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation a bit low. Flavor again has sweet golden like malts, grapes skin, dusty yeast, brett, grains, mild tartness, and some light oak. The heavy use of the young Tempus in this batch really show’s and leaves the beer tasting a bit green when comparing to there other blends. I guess the yeast did not finish everything by pulling it early and it throws me a little because OEC does such a fantastic job of drying out there beer so this tastes to me like it is unfinished.

Very nice. Some wine here, white wine. Citrus peel and light pepper. Apricot, hay. Tart finish. Pours cloudy amber without much head or lacing. Average carbonation. Tap at Max’s.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy apricot color. Aroma is peach, lemon, grain, light white wine. Tart but not very sour. Taste is light berries, honey, peach jam, orange zest, wood, buttery finish. Lingering tartness. Good, and an interesting mix of sweet and sour.

Much better then blend 1. Pours hazy golden. Aroma is grapes, oak, light balsamic, and peppery. Taste is tart and lightly sweet with heavy oak character. Good stuff.
