12 oz bottle, snifter, 52 degrees F. Tall, brown, creamy head diminishes slowly and sits on a very deep brown-red body. Ginger and nutmeg (I think) are the predominant aromas. Black coffee malt (M); doughy yeast (L); pepper aroma. Moderate sweetness throughout is matched by a heavily spicey finish. There's also moderate acidity in the finish. Medium-heavy body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: despite this beer's youth, it's quite tasty

Thanks to hopdog for this... Appears a dark brown with a tan head. Smell is of chocolate mint with pine coming through. Taste is like the thin mint cookies that have been watered down. Mouthfeel is smooth and watery.

Pour was a very cloudy brownish. Aroma is quite spicy, dark fruits, chocolate, gingery. Mouthfeel is sllightly harsh, but leaves a pleasent winter like flavor. Too bad this brewery went under, it was pretty rock solid with the few experiences I’ve had with it.

Appearence is similar to the standard winter ale, with a bit larger head. Aroma is HEAVY, it almost filled the room, but it wasnt a complex good aroma, much more a pile of spices and cinnamon. Taste is almost ruined by cinnamon and spices, you cant feel nothing else. I probably would rate this lower if I would taste it again, but this was something different from anything else.

Slight aroma of cinnamon and cloves. Slightly sweet body with a taste of cinnamon and what feels and tastes slightly like ginger the more you drink. Should age well and mellow nicely.

I had to do some hunting to figure out that this was the special edition. Deep red color with a small off white head. The ginger bread cookie aroma was what gave this away as the special edition. Dang, that is a really gingery taste. Lots of spieciness, too much in fact. Very tingly in the mouth. Not too good.

Eiríkur says it has the aroma of Jagermeister. If my memory is correct then that is spot on. Coffee and cinnamon flavour - is that a bit like Goldschlager?
