Taste is abused by completely out of balance hops. This is a fine beer as a hop novelty. The story is a nice one also, but this is not in the running as far as IIPA’s go

Look, the label got me...It’s so un-Victory like. I don’t really know what I mean by that, I guess it looks nothing like what most of their labels look like. Why am I talking about a damn label!? My point is that it got my attention then I tried it and said, of course, victory made this. Their beers are usually great, and this one is just that! It’s hoppyness is not overwhelming so don’t expect it to be too crazy just because it’s called hopwallop, it’s perfect. It kicks Rouge Brutal Bitter’s ass. So good. philbertk (867), Seattle, Washington, USA

Forms tall bright white head which dissipates slowly. Lacey. Very bright coppery yellow. Nicely carbonated. Aroma is grassy hops with just a hint of malt in the background. Has a great mouthfeel with a nice long finish. Appropriately bitter but not overly so. Bitterness lingers on the finish. Obviously grassy and piney flavor with only a touch of malt. Might be even nicer with more pronounced citrus. Very nice beer. canary dog (459), Rutland, Vermont, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 15, 2010 Very sharp and piney notes of fresh rich hops, one piled on top of the other. Mellow and golden finish, despite the increasing threats of wretched excess. Yum. wingman333 (266), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2010 Great appearance, light like a lager, but packs a hoppy punch. Good foam. Bitter, grassy, oily, but not a lot of aftertaste. Not quite an imperial IPA, but close. Nice alcohol and taste balance. Remembered this being hoppy-er but my taste buds have matured I guess. tastybeer (211), Washington DC, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2010 Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Big big hop flavor, pushes just about everything else out of the picture. Pine and floral flavors dominate this beer. On the upshot, this went very well with Mexican food. heavykevy21 (13), Pennsylvania, USA

about this because I’ve lost a taste for Hopdevil but this beer is a delight. I’m not a hop head but this is pretty smooth for a high abv double ipa. jmulv (128), Rensselaer, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 6, 2010 The smell is very strong hops, some light citrus and floral notes as well. Pours a pale yellowish color with a moderate white head. The taste is a hop lover’s dream - very light on the mouthfeel, hops are everywhere, a little citrus to compliment it. Goes down surprisingly smooth, finishes extremely crisp. Overall, one of the finest Imperial IPAs I’ve had, outstanding beer for a hops fan.
