Poured amber in color with a small off white head. The aroma was floral and pine hops with a little malt sweetness and a slight funk. The flavor was hoppy with citrus being more prominent (missing from the nose?), sweet malt, wheat bread and some vanilla. A touch on the thin side, but easy to drink. Thanks to mreusch for the trade. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Nice centennialish hop aroma. Deep dark crystal malt aroma as well. Deeply bitter, a bit in fact for the body. Seems like a mix of centennials and cascades. Thanks Eric for sharing your growler. Zinister (1247), Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 On cask at the brewpub. I’ve had this a few times before on tap, and I’d have to give a slight nod to the cask version for its mouthfeel. Pours a hazy, amber-brown with a thin, creamy, beige head. Caramel malts with piny hops on the nose. Medium-bodied, creamy and smooth, finishing lightly bitter. The flavor is caramel malts with a solid, piny hop backing (considerably more than is on the nose). A nice beer, but it seems more like a solid APA than an IPA. I guess perhaps our definition of what constitutes an American IPA may have changed considerably since this beer won the silver medal at the WBC , in ’97. csbosox (1096), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2004 The O.G. is the same, but the Hops are now at 50.5. 5oz sample. Dark reddish color, off white head. Heard to tell the size of the head from my sample glass. The aroma was hard to pin down, but I finally figured out that it smells like Champagne, the real stuff. There is also some fruit, maybe orange? The beer has a lot of hops, but it is real balanced. In the past, this beer ruined any sense of bitterness in following beers due to it’s hoppy, but well hidden style. The finish was real nice. A beer that I get everytime I am there. It tastes less bitter than when I have had it in the past, but this was sample #4, so maybe I was mistaken. desurfer (1070), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA

Hoppiness was in the range of your typical APA, with a weird flavor in the background I couldn’t place, but detracted from the beer considerably. topherh (1045), Kearney, Missouri, USA
