Poured a dark brown color with small amount of bubbly tan head. Aroma is a bit sweet and molasesy with slight dark fruit and a tad bit of roastiness. Flavor seems a bit watery to me. Light and sweet, slight roastiness and fruit flavor. Could not believe when I saw this was 8%abv. Overall, a bit weak flavor wise Could use some more malt base.

Feb 7, 2010 I’m a big lover of stouts but nothing really stands out about this particular one. It has a malty flavor but I would consider it to be one dimensional.

Feb 2, 2010 12 oz bottle. Drank Feb 09. Pours dark black, tan head. Aroma is some roast malt. Flavor is darkly roasted malts, very creamy, slightly metallic.

Dec 31, 2009 12-oz. Pours jet black with a fairly dense but rather sudsy and pocked tan head. Loose strings of tan lace on the walls of the glass. Falls away pretty quickly. Mild chocolatey nose. Creamy medium body, soft carb. Chocolate and roast with a bit of prune on the mid-palate. Mild sweet pruney chocolate finish.

Dec 22, 2009 Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a decent tan head. Aroma of dark lightly burnt malt with something lightly herbal. Medium body with rather creamy carbonation. Flavor is dark, almost with a touch of tar. A good straight forward stout. Not a trace of heat. Good drink.

Nov 20, 2009 Initially metallic aroma, once the largish bubbles left quickly, aroma was more dry and reminded me of cat litter. Dark black, thinner in body than I imagined, great lacing from the lightly tan head. Little metallic taste, dark light bodied roast, goes back to a bit of a rusty note in the finish. The beer is mostly good and the faults mentioned are peripheral.

Oct 16, 2009 Beer tasting at wine world. For the most part this is ok. A tad thin in taste. There are much better stoudts out there.
