COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with Buxton Brewing (UK). During a trip through the UK, the Wilderness/Buxton Brewers conceptualized a hybrid beer using refined traditional English malts along with outlandish Amercian Hops including Citra, Simcoe, Centennial, and Mosaic. The result is a balanced beer that pushes the stylistic boundaries of ESB, which would cause Camra members to yell "Rubbish!"

Amazing color. Citrus with malts and flowers, interesting combo. Taste like an IPA.

Draft. Crystal-clear copper with a thin and short-lived tan head. Aroma is hop-forward -- juicy orange, grass, resin, caramel. More like an imperial red than an ESB. Nice balance in the flavor between citrusy hops and malt sweetness. Mainly caramel and a touch of biscuits and nuttiness from the barley. Moderate bitterness. Has the style’s creamy medium body, which plays off the bright hops nicely. A neat take on ESB.

This is how you fix a boring ass style. Great bitter on draft at the source. Amber color with offwhite head. Aroma is tons of american and oceanic hops. Citrus, tropical, light scallion, and herbal. Taste is smooth light toffee maltiness and a balanced hop bitterness. Great beer.

On draft at the brewpub. Aroma of citrusy hops (the Simcoe and Mosaic really shine through) with a a touch of pine resin and a biscuit and pie dough malt backbone. Clear deep copper in color with an off-white craggy head. The taste is heavenly: the caramel maltiness combines perfectly with the moderate hop bitterness for a splendid balance. Cereal, pine, a hint of orange zest, mild lime, and a slightly copperish bitter taste also emerge late. Easy-drinking medium body with a resiny texture and an abrupt, clean finish. I absolutely love this brew (I’m a sucker for a nice bitter) and wish it was on tap more often.

Tap at the source. Hazy light gold pour with very little head. Aromas are juicy oranges, pineapple, flowers and grass. Tastes balanced but a bit boring. Citrus, pineapple and light malty sweetness. A tad thin and watery. Still a solid esb with a nice aroma.

Pours with a clear copper body that supports a nice dirty white head leaving behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up some citrus, a bit of pine hops and then fresh tangerines mixed with malts and a slight candied fruit sensation. The taste delivers a pleasing hoppy punch that’s orange, Clementine, pine hops and then some sweeter malts blended with a touch of roasted malts and a biscuit malt sort of feel. Dang, this is good. It’s bitter with hops, has a nice malt base biased towards a bit of roasted malts and then a dash of citrus freshness. When I have a standard Bitter this is what I want it to taste like. Yum.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2014 boom, this was bad. Big time diacetyl bomb, tons and tons of movie theater popcorn. Thin body, maybe a new batch that was released too soon? Will rerate for sure when i try again.

Draft at brewpub. Clear amber with great frothy creamy off white head. So much hoppy goodness. Superb balance. Excellente. Mild to moderate bitterness. I really liked this. Would love to see this brewed regularly.

On tap at the brewery. Citrus fruits, tropical notes, light floral/herbal hops and a touch of pale malts. Crisp, clean and bitter. Drinks kind of like an IPA. Good.

Amber/orange color. Creamy, bubbly head. This is really nice for the style! Juicy and resiny hops, lightly herbal, earthy, perfect toasted caramel malts. So well balanced!
