COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

250 ml bottle to Trappist glass gives cloudy medium brown color with brief light brown head. Despite the short-lived head it kept good lacing and carbonation throughout. Aroma raisins, spices, brown sugar, Taste sweet malts, dark fruits, caramel, spices. Clean finish. Palate medium-thick and carbonated. Alcohol apparent but not overpowering. I liked this one and would drink it again. Kinda wish they put it in a 330 ml bottle though.

Bottle - Murky brown pour with a bubbly off-white head. Lots of caramel, brown sugar, and heat on the nose. Malty and sweet, with honey, brown sugar, and good alcohol warmth. Not too hot for 12%, and has a pleasant roasty and nutty finish. Too carbonated in the mouth, but a nice body. This was a pleasant change in a tasting full of lambics and sours.

bottle-2007 i think? pours deep brown with lots of chunks and a small fizzy off-white head. nose of dark malt and bigtime sugars/alcohol. sugar and spice flavors with a wallop of alcohol. man this little bottle was hard to finish. this could age into something good if you like that kind of thing but for what this is, its not very good. fairly dry finish, which is not what i was expecting. Part of me says this could age into something great, but in its present state, its decent, just not great. i am not one for big alcoholic belgians thats for sure!

Dinky little bottle that looks all fancy and Chrismasy... even in July. Pours a darkish brown with a fluffy tan head and sweet sugary aromas of brown cane, leather, oranges, and a tutti frutti bubble gum smell. First sip reveals a whallup alcohol with a lot of brown sugar and bubble gum fruit. A bit of spice in the mid to late palate and a lovely AV burn as it works its way to a close. Nothing too exciting, but solid stuff.

Golden dark brown with a very short lived cap but with a whopping 12% I’m not surprised. Aroma is so dam yummy, dark carbonated malt, cherry, amoretto, and other dark fruits all built on this lovely caramel smooth and thick malt. Drooling so much right now. A lot of the same can be found in the taste with almost zero trace of the 12% but I do notice a warm burn in my stomach and throat. I love this cherry almond flavor, and the malts are so smooth and yummy. On one of my last sips there was this lingering after taste of freshly cut 2x4, but I couldn’t find it again after that. Great brew not one thing wrong with it.
