Commercial Description:

2005 vintage, indicated on the top right of the label, 7.7%abv. Made for dark chocolate lovers. Should be tasted almost at room temperature with fresh strawberries and somebody to love.
2006 vintage, The brewery was momentarily closed, but a batch was made in another brewery. No marks at the top and 7.7%.
2007 vintage, Maniacs asked for a thicker version. Here it is. We are not responsible if your tongue stays black. 7.9%.
2008, More of everything and a bit more on the roasted than on the chocolate.

Bottle (thanks to Kevin for sharing) poured a translucent black with red highlights and a small diminishing amber head. Aromas of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt and cinnamon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate and dark fruit with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish.

Kinda dissappointing for an Impy Stout!

Damn this is good shit. Thanks to Glouglouburp for this wonderful beer. Black pour with a small brown head. Aroma has great molasses notes, some salty scotch and chocolate are noticeable not only in the nose but on the tongue as well. This beer got better and better with each and every sip. Damn I wish I had more.

Bottle courtesy of HogTownHarry. 2005B Vintage. After my "mini swill tasting" I needed to treat myself to something good and boy did this ever fill the bill! Pours a beautiful looking black with a large lasting foamy brown head -- man that looks great. Complex and full aroma with lots of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and hops -- awesome, simply one of the best smelling Imperial Stouts I’ve had. Flavour’s quite hoppy along with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and alcohol -- delicious! Creamy mouthfeel and full bodied. This is an excellent Impy Stout, Bieropholie rarely dissapoints but this one is a grand-slam. Now to get more...

341 mL bottle received via trade with Glouglouburp. 2007 vintage. Pours like spent motor oil with a spare, frothy, dark brown head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, coffee, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (meat, broth) with notes of wood and smoke. Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Many thanks to hopdog for sending this bottle in a trade! 2005 Vintage. Opaque blackness fills the glass. A small foamy brown heads forsm only to dissipate within minutes.Nose is roasty and very chocolaty. Light caramel notes and a hint of coffee.Taste is burnt chocolate chip cookies, light coffee, dark bittersweet chocolate bars, some dark fruitiness, and caramel. Body is creamy but has a bit of a carbonation bite. Medium overall feel. Finishes with more chocolate notes, some chocolate cake, light coffee, roasted malts and light caramel. This, like the St. George Winter Stout, would be a nice session Impy Stout if I’ve ever seen it.

Bottle. Deep black in color and a thick, oily pour making a thick tan head. Nice roasted aromas. Taste is full bodied with flavors of smoky friuts, bittersweet chocolate and sticky hops. Mouthfeel is a bit lively for the style so it adds a nice balance. Smooth and creamy.

1000th rating of the year!!! 06 vintgage I think12oz Bottle likely from glougoburb. Thanks Dany. Shared with my girlfriend Cyn post wet hop fest. Pours black with an extremely rich brown head. Nose is sweet with a lot of chocolate, and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet and as such very alcoholic tasting with notes of chocolate. Strange with goods and bads.
