BOTTLE 33 CL from Bov. 6,5% ABV. Cloudy dirty amber-red, huge head. Big hoppy aroma - sweet lots of sweet tropical fruit, balanced by some resins and a touch of dankness. The taste is a bit too dry and simple, and the body is on the thin side too. Nice clean bitterness. Some light acidity and astringency in the finish is the worst offender and the lively carbonation does not help it either. Pretty good.

Bottle courtesy of Philippe (Bov); 6.5% ABV
The bottle is gushing a bit. Cloudy light amber color, small head. Fruity aroma, fresh, bubblegum, peach. Dry and over carbonated; resiny final, citrus peel; it has a bit too much yeast, but it’s a good hoppy beer.

from the brewery - cloudy amber-orange beer with a solid and persistent beige foam; fair fruity hoppy aroma of citrus, oranges and pineapples; full-bodied, clean, tasty and fairly bitter; dry and long fruity hoppy finish of oranges and mango with hints of almonds and marzipan

Clear golden color. The smell is very earthy flowery hoppy bitter. The taste is a bit complicated with pines hoppy bitterness earthy malt body with some sweetness. The aftertaste is lasting but a bit less round than the beer mixture.

Deep orange-golden color with inch-thick white head. Fantastic aroma of pines and citrus fruits. Taste is bittersweet, grapefruits, hints of the dry bready malt body and a perfectly balanced bitterness. Perfect amount of carbonation as well. 523 like I love it!

My first 523 beer, ordered direct online. Pours a very dark pale almost brown with lots of frothy head. Maybe a bit too much as it does not settle well. Aroma is outstanding. Fresh earthy piney grassy hops. The taste is well balanced an crisp. Some earthy notes and slight malt overtone but the grapefruit and passion fruit from the Amarillo hop is pronounced. Lacking super hoppy bitterness of a west coast style ipa. By far my favorite swiss beer to date.
