| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 Clear brown with thin brown head. Heavy roasted malt aroma with caramelized sugar and nuts. Nutty taste of sweet malts, brown sugar, sweet malts and mild alcohol. Better than your average brown ale. Tripplebrew (560), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA

Aroma is is hops and light caramel and malts. Flavor is a bit tangy with caramel, hops and floral undertones. I can taste the raisin undertones. Body is light medium with fair carbonation. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2008 No surprise from the guys at Dogfish Head. A complex mix of flavors all poured in a bottle for your enjoyment. A maple aroma with a caramel color, generous carbonation, with a small tangy taste initialized followed up by a hoppy, fruity aftertaste. MrChopin (790), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2008 Totally unexpected beer. Dark brown with white head that’s gone almost immediately. Scents of fruit and roast dominance. The taste is similarly sweet, though roast bitterness and some hop citrus is present and roast/medicinal aftertaste. Dry finish. Whatever this is, it tastes like a subdued coffee stout or really subdued imperial stout. mjfleming23 (24), Lake Worth, Florida, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 13, 2008 One of my personal favorites. I am thrilled I was able to get this in keg form for my wedding reception. mvcramer (231), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 11, 2008 Not a huge fan of browns, but I’ll try anything that Joe brews. Good beer - a bit too much alcohol in the aroma and on the palate. Not DF’s best but still a solid beer.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 6, 2008 Pours nice deep reddish brown with a finger of tan head. Aroma is roasted caramel malts and a hint of the 7.2% alcohol. Flavor is outstanding, a complex array of sweet caramel and brown sugar, dried fruits, coffee and chocolate. Great full body, smooth, and warm from the alcohol. A fantastic brown ale. weezfour (122), Oradell, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2008 Pours a massive and lasting 2 inch head. Dark brown, almost black in color. Could easily mistake it for a guiness if not for a more bubbly head. Taste is ridiculously complexed, and but somehow still balanced. Little alcohol hint in the finish.
