Killellan is the historic name for Houston. This is one of our most popular ales which we use the finest hops to produce a golden coloured, clean mellow and refreshing ale with a long zesty finish.

Cask, Loughborough Fest 10. Golden with minimal head. Aromas are toast and melon with some citrus. Slightly peppery. Flavours are sweet lemon with toast malts. Hoppy and dry on the finish. Very simple yet decent.

Cask @ The State. Golden colour, off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus. Flavour is hoppy and slightly malty.

Pint in the Wetherspoon’s in Paisley, Poet something I think. Not much of a head. Golden colour, not gassy. quite nice.

Medium creamy offwhite head. Yellow body. Fruity citric resiny aroma with dusty notes. Sweetish-dry fruity floral wooden taste with dusty notes. Mild, smooth mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry resiny fruity dusty aftertaste with strawy syrupy notes. Long aftertaste. Nice and highly drinkable. (0.25l cask, Guildford Arms, Edinburgh.)

Cask at Abbotsford, Edinburgh as Houston Killellan Bitter. Slight hazy orange coloured, small creamy white head, dusty nose. Sweet malty, light fruity and pleasant hoppy with floral and caramel notes. Bitterish watery finish.

Cask-conditioned at the State Bar, Glasgow 2/07/09. Amber coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of summer fruits and grassy hops. Sweetish malt aroma with some fruity hops and moderately bitter finish. Ok.
