Smooth well balanced with hints of coffee and chocolate finishes even better then the start. After writing this I had to raise the overall impression another point.

Chocolate is bittersweet with nice coffee mild bitterness. Well flavored without being over the top. Full mouth without being sticky. I wanted another when it was finished. Really well done. beergodd1 (30), Conneaut, Ohio, USA

Two beautiful black Pitchers of Goodness . Nose is milky cocoa, smokey, nice malted milk character, some dark fruits & really dark caramel. Flavor is sweet roasty malt, rich dark fruits. A touch of burnt in the slightly smokey & malty finish, along with a bit of hop that balances things perfectly. 1 of my favorite Porters "Ever" along with a Founders Breakfast Stout.....mmm Good. Oh my, this is a porter? Looks like a baltic, pours out a thick black, ends with a thick tan head. Nose is rich cocoa and roasted and toasted malt. Palate is medium thick but very heavy for a porter. Very sweet but tons of hops in there too balance out the chocolate malt. Almost too sweet. Very oily mouthfeel too, surprisingly good stuff, well not so surprising I love this brewer. alobar (1131), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is semi-creamy, big roastiness, and sweet chocolate. Nice hop bitterness. Excellent porter. matthasson (101), Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 9, 2010 Dark, Rich, and Sexy? Yes yes yes. Pours black with a nice big cappuccino colored head. A full nose of milk chocolate and bitter coffee with some earthy hops in the background. As the head settles a transfixing lace lays. Doesn’t get much better pre sip. This is a wonderful porter. Black malts pack a punch with silky dark chocolate, and some smoky highlights. At 45 IBU’s, hoppy bitterness completes this robust flavor. Intensely dry finish, like I need water. Full bodied, great feel and carbonation. Another excellent beer from Founders, who are no doubt a top 3 favorite brewery of mine. I am left to ponder, who is the woman on the label?
