Dark brown with a beige creamy head that settles kind of quickly but leaves nice lacings.
Quite an impressive smell. Smooth dark malts with a huge amount of dark chocolate. Notes of coffee and perhaps a minimal hop note. Judging by the smell, it’s almost hard to believe that this one is not brewed with coffee. Not very complex, but it’s a really pleasant smell.
The taste is good as well and mimics the smell. Dark and somewhat sweet malts with a gentle roasted character. A hint of spices and lots of dark chocolate, but the chocolate is not as powerful as in the smell. The coffee is more pronounced, though. Not many fruity flavors in this one. The finish is not a letdown, but it’s not as impressing as the rest of the taste. It’s a bit short with a minimal bitterness, wood, a faint hint of hops and lingering cocoa flavors.
Medium body and reasonably smooth texture. Unfortunately the mouthfeel is a bit dull and lifeless.
If this one had had a bigger body, this one would have been a great porter. And if the finish had been more powerful, it would have been even better. For now, it’s just good. I was really impressed by the chocolate character is displayed. A well crafted beer.

Sweet aroma of black currant juice, chocolate and licorice. Dryer flavor with berryish black currant, rich in chocolate and licorice. Gentle roastiness, some coffee and charcoal in finish. Complex and tasty, could be slightly roastier. gyllenbock (370), Stockholm, Sweden

The taste? Coffee and chocolate but also some licorice and raisins. Pleasant aftertaste. Quite rich. A nice porter in every way. TBone (6868), Pori, Finland

Dark brown color, steady brown-beige head. Sticky whisky-wood barrel and mould aroma with roasted notes. Medium-bodied, oily mouthfeel. Roasted, but with soft way, some whisky, decent. Frovigalning (472), , Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2009 It poured a pitch black liquid with a medium sized light brown foam, that left a nice thick layer of lacing on the side of the glass.
It had a deep smell of rich dark chocolate, nuts and a hint of coffey. I also sensed some milk, I wonder if they put some lactos in this brew?
It had a very smooth mouthfeel, thick liquid that left a buttery and oily feeling in my mouth. It was semi-dry and felt really good in my mouth. Once again I got this milky feeling. It tasted of chocolate, some coffey and a hint of something burned.
It didn’t have a very heavy flavour or smell and if I have to give any critique it would be that I would have wanted some more flavour, or at least a bit more intense. But besides that a very enjoyable beer, not fantastic but still well brewed. LanceUppercut (133), Sweden

It’s a bit smokey and roasted. This is a dry, light-bodied porter, with very little sweetness and alcohol. Elegant and very drinkable! Ygberg (108), Sweden

A fingerthick, big-bubbled dense choco head, resting on dark brown to near black body with ruby edges. Delicate, dry chocolate aroma. Also a scent of mild coffee, a well rounded rostedness, dark dried fruits and vanilla. Cocoa and chocolate flavor, fairly sweet, with dark roasted malts, raisins, and a touch of acidic fruits. A gentle hop bitterness i the backbone. Supersmooth in the mouth. Medium to light body, not as filling as expected. Sweetish, rounded malt finish with roast, chocolate and woody notes.
