Bottled. Tasted several times during the early beery ages.
Average dunkelweizen. Pours hazy copper with nice off white head. Cereal nose, licorice, molasses. Medium body, average carbonation, slick texture. Taste is overall sweet, roasty, licorice, some wheat character.

From old tasting notes. Dark Amber orange color. Subtle citrus malt nose. Tangy, toasted wheat malt flavor hints at cloves and lemon peel. Tart dry finish.

16oz swingtop bottle 5/00-Pours a dark brown with a decent off white head. Aroma of caramel, banana, and sweetness. Taste of any other Dunkelweizen. A nice tasting medium bodied brew.

BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - JUL 1, 2008
I do enjoy this much more than the Hefe. This has a richer malt profile, with some chocolate and caramel notes, following a bready malt backbone. Still a little light on the spice profile, with lots of citrus acidity. Drinkable, but far from transcendence.

harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - AUG 6, 2006
This was quite tasty. A bigger body than I was expecting, but kind of light on the yeastiness, with a rich maltiness, with some pleasant tasting caramel and chocolate, mixed with some citric fruit rinds. Dry and bitter in the finish. Quaffable!

Bottle. A cloudy yellow-coloured pour with lumps of yeast and an average-sized head. Aromas of wheat and orange. A short, somewhat watery finish. Pretty average.

Pure heaven on tap. Not bad in a bottle. Smooth rich dark classic dunkelweizen flavors
