Commercial Description:
Made from mostly pale malt and some Munich and caramel malts. These add a little sweetness, which is balanced by more hops. The result is a rich color and fruity flavor.

In the bottle. Pours medium amber with a slightly off-white head that never quits. Very strong malty and doughy aroma. Flavor has medium hops, but a strong yeasty and malty taste. Slight odd medicinal flavor as well. maybe a little bit like tea. Mild carbonation and a beautiful beer to the end.

I can’t beleive that it took me so long to rate this one. I;ve had it several times and always enjoy it as a clean, tasty, craft brew that is easily available and fairly inexpensive. It’s very well balanced leaning on the sweet side but still maintaing a nice profile of hops. A great session beer.

Bright amber with an off white head. Aroma is a bit sweet with some floral hops. Flavor is carmel/sweet with a nice mouthfeel. Slight bitter finish for some balance. Not there most spectacular, but very solid and enjoyable.

Pretty good amber. A decent head and nice body. I had it on tap, so I will have to try the bottle. Not too hoppy.

Bottle shared with tupalev -- my bottle. Pours a hazy orange-amber with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Nice, pleasant aroma of hops, caramel malt and fruit. Flavour’s the same, hops, caramel malt and fruit -- simple, but tasty and easy to drink. Medium bodied. Very good, a nice version of the style.

Lots of dry malt in the nose and the body. Hops are subtle. Clean, crisp and smooth.

Rating for Bell’s Big Porch Ale

Pours with a mid-hazed, coppery-amber body under a full, off-white head which holds for a long while at 2- and 3-fingers. Some sour milk notes to light pine and honey-cluster cereal grain. Consistency of whole milk, a little hard to swallow. This approaches APA territory in hop flavoring, so it’s no wonder its percentile is so high for an Amber. Lemony with other citrus fruits in the background. A mild caramel sweetness adds to the experience along with strains of mild tea. Its initial flavor struck me as odd at first, but that could have been an effect of the hoppier beer I tried previous to it.
