4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dionysus (339) - Arizona, USA - AUG 29, 2010
Bottle pours deep brown/black with a dirty khaki head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, coffee, and roast malt. Flavor show the same with some additional dark fruit. It starts with a juicy, yet sour dark fruit, that is quickly followed up with a creamy midpalate, and a light to moderate bitter roast finish.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 JDBaker11058 (52) - Maryland, USA - AUG 7, 2010
Appearance: dark coffee, with a short tan creamy head that shrinks to a baby collar with nice lacing. Aroma: toffee, dark bittersweet chocolate. Taste: rich bittersweet chocolate, hint of coffee, lightly dry. Finish: surprisingly short and clean, crisp and sweet, and a little bit dry. Notes: Wow, great beer. Very rich, very complex; like an unsweet dessert. Amazingly full-bodied. Winter can’t come again fast enough. I was foolish enough to only buy a single bottle. Next time I find this bad boy, I’m going to get a case to last me for the whole year. This is a year-round kind of stout.

I am not in love with it but this is a rather good stout. A hint of red in the color. Rather creamy. Well done Bell’s. Serving: Bottle
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 JStax (84) - West Virginia, USA - JUL 24, 2010
This beer looks like oil as you pour it into the glass. Of course, this is not a bad thing. Quite the contrary, actually. I find that if you can see through your stout, you are not going to enjoy said stout because it is going to fucking gross, but I digress. This beer has a delicious aroma, taste, and palate of chocolate and coffee. All the essentials. It is one of the smoothest stouts I have found and would love to have another go with this magnificent creation. If I could fuck this beer, you better believe I would.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mfaulke (85) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 22, 2010
I remember trying this one before and couldn’t figure why this brew had such high reviews. I decided to give it another try, with the same results. There is a lot of complexity to this beer but the finish completely threw me off. A sour metallic taste is about the best way I can put it. A different finish would have sent this one into the 4+ rating for sure.
