one51 (2076) - - OCT 30, 2022UPDATED: OCT 30, 2022 Bottle from Orterer, drunk after preparing for a family Halloween wedding party tomorrow where I shall be the inimitable Jose Cuervo. Filtered medium brown, small head. Sweet caramel/malt nose, earthy. Flavor is rather sweet like kandi sugar, slight roast notes, moderate complexity, low on bitterness for this much cara content. Pretty good but a bit too sweet if I'm being honest.
Fin (17186) - Innernzell, GERMANY - JUL 25, 2021UPDATED: JUL 25, 2021 On tap at the Kloster Brauerei Reutberger Tap Sunday 25th July after a short 11-12km cycle ride from Holzkirchen. Pours reddy brown with a large white head. Caramel but quite bitter, hoppiness provides much of this I suspect but also roastiness, nice soft moutheel a good example of the style.

wattoclone (32) - Lompoc, California, USA - SEP 28, 2019UPDATED: SEP 28, 2019 Burnt toffee aroma with a woody, roasted malt finish. Medium to low sweetness for my palate which is used to dunkelweizen style. Burnt wood with a slightly metallic note overall.
