Mango and melon nose, tart but tempered with very clean, aromatic flowery honey. I wish I'd had "real" tequila before tasting this mead to compare the agave flavors. I am going to seek this out (have heard Mountain Meadows might be going out of business??) and savor more in the future. grant (806), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2007 This looked appealing enough to me but I have no idea how to rate mead on appearance so I’ll treat this as part of the overall score. Rather simple aoma of apple juice, ginger and floral honey. I want to pick out a few tequila-esque notes but that is likely the power of suggestion more than anything. My mead vocabulary is not extensive, obviously. In the flavor I get a metallic initial sweetness, followed by a bit of acidity/tartness. More cideriness and some melon-like flavors. It finishes with a hint of bitterness, from what I’m not sure. This would be fairly dru for a beer of similar alcohol content but I think it’s on the sweet side for a mead. There’s sort of a vague fruitiness going on here but I’m not sure how to describe it. I’ll be sure to revisit if I have more meads and a better idea of what to look for, but one has to start somewhere I suppose. jayme9874 (756), Hamburg, New York, USA

Light to medium bodied, stiff, wet, dry with flavors of lemony honey (almost like an herbal tea). Its made from blue agave which some tequila is made from, I dunno, its in there but I cannot describe the taste, makes it unique, tangy, a bit acidic but playful with the flowered honey sweetness. This is good mead, not a in jadwiga class IMO for it doesn;t have the palate but damn flavorful and worth a try, better then chaucer's and I think thats rated pretty highly on here if thats worth anything. porterdude (170), Bellingham, Washington, USA

Smells of fermented honey (go figure). Tastes of oak and a taste i liken to Tequila. Slight sour tinge on the tounge. Very apparent alcohol in this mead, but refreshing, a good after hard days work mead! A wonderful bottle to always have on-hand.
