Draft at Walking Man in Stevenson, OR on 7/22/07. Nearly opaque black with ruby accents when held to the light. Medium ltan head and some decent lace. Cherries notable right off the bat, folloewed by some chocolate and roasted nuts. Smooth and creamy with a full body. Surprisingly , this isn’t overly sweet. That’s not to say it isn’t sweet, because it is, but it’s not cloying. It’s like eating a piece of Black Forest Cherry Cake. Not soething I would drink often, but as a dessert beer it would be nice from time to time.

dark, dark brown beer with a beige head, which has good retention. smells like black cherries! A yummy beer with a smooth palate. Some might be put off by the amount of cherry flavor, but I enjoyed it. Dark chocolate flavor as well. A good beer to serve with ice cream. The higher abv is undetectable. Delicious.

On tap at Henry’s. Pours very black with a dark beige head. Incredible cherry aroma, perhaps some raspberry there also. I’ve had cough syrups that taste weaker than this beer. It is syrupy sweet but it still has a big, big berry flavor. This is a really fun beer.

Tap at Taphouse Grill in Bellevue, WA. Dark brown pour with beige head. Nose is chocolate cherry candies. Taste is a good balance of dark cherry and roasted malt. Would have loved some chocolate in here.

Pours a deep brown black with minimal tan head. Aroma is wonderful, a fresh cherry with a hint of chocolate. Unfortunately, taste doesn’t measure up, as it is rather medicinal, with a cough syrup like ending.

Deep black pour, big tan head. Wonderful aroma of black cherries and malt. Very natural aroma betrayed by very artificial flavor; almost medicinal. Decent, but not as good as promised by the first impression.

Draft in Portland, Oregon. What can you say? Dark and syrupy, no head, thick chocolate and coffee flavors. A little bit of cherry in the aftertaste.

draft at collins. pours nearly jet black with a modest and short lived tan disc on top. nice sweet candyish cherry nose. some roasty chocolate there as well. nice creamy medium body with lowish carb. big cherry flavor with a lot of roast. should be chocolate instead of roast imo. ends really really dry ashy and bitter. too dark and acetic.
