Nearly opaque black with ruby accents when held to the light. Medium ltan head and some decent lace. Cherries notable right off the bat, folloewed by some chocolate and roasted nuts. Smooth and creamy with a full body. Surprisingly , this isn’t overly sweet. That’s not to say it isn’t sweet, because it is, but it’s not cloying. It’s like eating a piece of Black Forest Cherry Cake. Not soething I would drink often, but as a dessert beer it would be nice from time to time.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2010 dark, dark brown beer with a beige head, which has good retention. smells like black cherries! A yummy beer with a smooth palate. Some might be put off by the amount of cherry flavor, but I enjoyed it. Dark chocolate flavor as well. A good beer to serve with ice cream. The higher abv is undetectable. Delicious. SledgeJr (3312), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2010 On tap at Henry’s. Pours very black with a dark beige head. Incredible cherry aroma, perhaps some raspberry there also. I’ve had cough syrups that taste weaker than this beer. It is syrupy sweet but it still has a big, big berry flavor. This is a really fun beer. HighWine (201), , California, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Pours a deep brown black with minimal tan head. Aroma is wonderful, a fresh cherry with a hint of chocolate. Unfortunately, taste doesn’t measure up, as it is rather medicinal, with a cough syrup like ending. acblue (83), Seattle, Washington, USA

Very natural aroma betrayed by very artificial flavor; almost medicinal. Decent, but not as good as promised by the first impression. cprochak (495), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
