Beer back in my room after punishing the kulminator. Notes say: Flemish ale tartness, sour with lemons, i love it, but not as much as the black.

Straw yellow, extremely clear, nice pure white cover of sticky foam. and frankly.... hypocrite appearance since the beer is terrific! Aroma reminds me of blue cheese. It’s horsey and barnyardy like any gueuze that respects itself. A good dose of hay and old books alike mustiness claims its seriousness. The addition of fruity undertones (which I couldn’t name besides the cidery apples), old socks and leather makes it a contender against the big boys. Admirable clean dryness. Just enough acidity. Incredibly soft malt base, rediculously soft carbonation. As lovely as a flower that smells the wet horse can be. Give me some of that black label, will you? Thanks Martin.

Bottle. Typical hardcore gueze, sour, acidic. Slightly flat mouthfeel, and a touch of stickyness, i much prefer the black label, but this is still very tasty. Farmyardy, sour, limey acidty.

Bottled: Golden coloured, slightly unclear with a frothy lasting head. The aroma is very wellbalanced with rich amounts of sourness and sweetness. Flavour has notes of earth, is fruity and has this fantastic sourness thats perfectly balanced by sweetness. Very dry finish. The more I try these gueuzes, the more I like them. This is a really good beer

Bottle, cork & cage, 375ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Dreamy, tangy beer, for those that believe they do not like Lambic, they really must try this. Probably a little more subtle and behaved than the unfiltered, this is sharp, lemony, bramley apple and citric all in one hit. The flavours never become overwhelming, just a very decent beer.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It’s a slightly hazy, orange beer with a lasting, finger thick off-white head on top. Funky and citrusy on the nose, barnyard and some horse blanket notes. Citrusy, quite moderately funky flavor with some leather. Citrusy finish with some barnyard and horse blanket. Medium body with a nice carbonation. A really nice beer, but I would like it more intense. Really quaffable. 090619

Copper coloured, crystal-clear; good off-white head, slowly collapsing. First impression is sugar syrup, as for adding to faro. Then there’s some herb, like parsley, and, very marked, aged, dry hops - TONS of them. Pity about the syrup! Sweetish, bit bland taste. In the back one can still find some of the usual suspects: some horseblanket, citrus, leather. Lips smack of lemon - other good sign. But essentialy, dulled. Light to medium bodied. Some mild acidburn, some slicknees, some toasted sensation too. Aftertaste is more OK, sourish. Several good signs - of a wretched, ruined-beyond-redemption beer. Sorry, but this is nowhere what gueuze is about. Too bad about its origin.
