| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 15, 2010 Review #1600!! And I could not have asked for a better one! This double IPA really hit the mark for me! This beer had it all! It started with an inviting pour of a light amber color with a rich and generous off-white head. The head left a beautiful and attractive lace around the glass. The nose was bold, with a good amount of spiciness, citrus, bread, hop resin and pine. The flavors were dangerously delicious, with notes of bitter, spicy and floral hops. They were balanced nicely with a sweet, bready and earthy malt. The 471 finished strong, with an intense bitterness, lots of dry and spicy citrus flavors and a fair amount of woodiness. This was a fantastic beer to celebrate another milestone with! beernovice39 (448), South Carolina, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 9, 2010 Color is rich amber yet hazy. Nose doesnt show much hops but might be due to age. Grain and cerreal malt does show up in the aroma along with slight lemongrass or rosemary from the yeast. Head retention good. Body is full and shows lots of toasted malt, lots of caramelization while show up finish the job. A+ thechandler (287), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Pours a copper colored orange with a creamy white head. Aroma is sweet and grassy with a solid lemony hoppiness. Notes of grapes as well. Flavor is glouriously bitter. Not much other than hops, but boy are there hops. Mmmm hops. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Bottle -> Snifter. Pours a reddish apricot, with a light, eggshell head. The head dissipated quickly, and zero lacing. Smells of alcohol (9.2 abv?!? Sheesh...), citrus, plums, and dough. Tastes of a citrusy, resiny, dough, with a descent bitterness. There’s something there, something distinct to the flavor, which I can’t identify, but I don’t like it. This beer leaves a starchy film inside the mouth. mjmcend (67), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 26, 2010 Aroma is of spicy hops with a strong nose something that seemed close to Italian spices. Some fruit there too. Appearance is reddish with a medium off-white head that lasts. Taste is also spicy with a good hop bitterness. Also notes of flowers and some fruit. Less malt that most other DIPAs I have had and that is refreshing. Coats the mouth and feels chewy. The biting spice covers the alcohol taste well. Overall, a great DIPA that is unlike others I have tried. taphandle (119), Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2010 Orange with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma was of hops and the taste was sweet and bitter with some malt. The finish was the taste of hops, rapidly giving way to bitterness which lingered. It was a good IPA, but didn’t find anything that made it stand out - not always a bad thing. chicowv (51), , West Virginia, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 21, 2010 Pours a light bronze with a small head that dissipates quickly; small carbonation.
Aroma is amazing! Great citrus hop smell probably from the chinnok hops.
Taste was incredible, just like a strong IPA should be. Not entirely complex, but the ample hops make this just right for the style. I had never had the Breckenridge brewery, so this surely sets the bar high for the rest of their brews.
