Commercial Description:
A true bohemian-style pilsner. Crisp and refreshing, this beer is perfect for a hot summer day. Saint Arnold Summer Pils has a delicate, sweet malt taste complemented by an abundant hop aroma and flavor. This beer is brewed with fine German malt, and a copious quantity of "noble" hops imported from the Czech Republic. Saint Arnold Summer Pils is best consumed at 36° Fahrenheit

I'm one of those dumbass Texans that thinks Bigfoot is a summer beer. When it gets TOO HOT then it's time to shut down. This is really a fairly decent beer, easy to drink, harmless, not bad, blahdiddyblahdiddyblah. I will stick to other fare and await the day that the Elissa comes my way.

bottle thanks to metzlers in denton, tx. poured a clear yellow with a thick white head. decent retention. ok first thought of aroma for whatever reason reminded me of a dog fart. after another evaluation there was floral citrusy thing going on. flavor was hoppy with a note of grass maybe??? interesting, but good.

Kinda yellow and fizzy looking though this does have a nicely retained egg white head. Aroma is lightly hoppy with notes of hay and straw. There is a malt base in the background. Flavor is decent. Definite lemon, some light hop bitterness with just a dash of malt biscuit flavor in the background. Pretty tasty on a hot Texas summer day.

Pretty good pils. Light hop aroma. Flavor is mildly sweet and finishes lightly bitter. Appearance is yellow/fizzy. The is no head retention and no lacing. Pretty refreshing for hot Texas days.

Pours a clear bubbly golden color with a small bubbly head that dissipated to a minimal wisp of head on top. No lacing of any sort. Bready malts, grain, and a hint of hops in the smell. Smells a bit like fresh cut grass. Taste is dominated by a light malt and grain flavor with only the slightest bit of hop kick in the finish. I did get a little bit of fruity sweetness in the taste. Fairly light mouthfeel with moderate corbonation. This is a decent micro pils, but I probably wouldn’t drink another one.

(Bottle) Pours a yellow color with a mediocre white head. Some malt and grain in the taste. Also, a slight metallic aftertaste. A good pilsner, but slightly overcarbonated.

At the brewery. Pours a thin yellow. Nose of lemon, some hops and other citrus. Taste of hops, yeast and spice. Good solid pils.

From Walt. Light golden brew with a layer of fine bubbles on top. A very refreshing brew. These lighter ABV brews are becoming my summer fav. Great brew after a hot summer run. Mildly hoppy but more bready yeast.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Clear yellow with a medium white head of rather short duration. Aroma of hay, bread, and light floral hops. No skunkiness or other aromas suggestive of oxidation, so this one seems to be pretty fresh. This has a nice light to medium body without wateriness, which seems to be a characteristic in lesser examples of this style. Lively, but not excessive carbonation, and a smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is a little on the sweet side, and this extends throughout the finish. I like to see a little more bitterness in a Pils, but this still has a pretty clean and refreshing finish. All in all, this is a nice Pils, very drinkable, and worth getting if you can get it fresh.
