Commercial Description:
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

Bottle Pours a cloudy copper with a thin off white head. The head lasts well, and produces excellent lacing. Has a good aroma of citrus, pine, and some alcohol. Has a decent carbonation. A slight alcohol burn but the flavor is good. Mildly hopped. Decent amount of malt balance. Has a resiny texture. Has a full body. The finish is good with a solid aftertaste. This one packs a punch but is good.

Received in trade with Jdskinns (thanks Jari!) Dark ruby hue with slight off-white head. Heavy smell of hops balanced well with strong malt smell. Full bodied. Initially sharp with sweetness in the middle (caramel, "jolly rancher"?). A little dry and bitter again in the finish, which is nice. 12% ABV hidden VERY well! Aweseome!

This poured a dark orange color with a beige head. Aroma was lots of sweet malts, as well as lots of citrus hops, and alcohol. Flavor was a bit of a let down from the aroma, very sweet and cloying malt, a good bit of hop flavor, but not enough to balance out the loads of malt and alcohol.

355 ml bottle. Hops take over in aroma, very piny hoppy. Some caramalt aroma, quite strong actually, but stays under the hoppy scent. Some citrus / grapefuit notes as well. Very bitter, all the IBUs are present, but alcohol is well hidden. Sweet caramel malt taste is present all the time and despite the exaggerated IBU’s and alcohol the beer is well balanced. Another? Anytime.

355 ml bottle. From the US. Thanks Brandman!
Hazy light red colour with tiny off-white head. Fruity bitter hoppy aroma with resin, grapefruit and soap. Darkish fruity extremely bitter hoppy flavour with resin, grapefruit and liquorice. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. 12% cannot be tasted. Great Double IPA.

Bottle at Nachbar in Louisville. Pours red/amber and fairly thick. Has a pungent resinous quality to the nose. Pine sap with some candy caramel notes. The flavor is very hoppy and bitter but also has a distinct sweetness to it from the malts. A bite from the high alcohol is noticable but does not diminish the drinkability, which is, like they say, pretty dangerous. Excellent sticky mouthfeel. Feels like it coats your mouth in bitter, hoppy wondefulness. Not only is the label one of the coolest on the market, this is a very good beer.

(bottle - 12 oz) Orange pour with a thick off-white head. Tons of hops and citrus in the aroma. Almost impossible to pick out any one in particular. Loaded with citrus and floral notes as well. Flavor is an explosion of citrus and flowery hops. Smooth and sweet with a bitter and peppery flavor coming through at the end. Incredibly thick and chewy. Alcohol is hidden well.
