Our award winning coffee beer! We brew this robust style porter with coffee we roast at the brewery. The roasted coffee compliments the dark roasted malts we use in this brew. English malts and hops round out the balance. Mmm, the perfect breakfast beer.

Very good aroma & as advertised, very Java / coffee like in flavor. It’s a tad on the thin side but this beer is quite good nevertheless!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thick brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, roasted coffee, nuts, chocolate malt. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, coffee grounds, espresso, chocolate malt. Plenty of fresh coffee, a touch of sweetness, and nice porter backbone. Excellent Java Porter! 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Reviewed from notes taken during the Great Nebraska Beer Festival. Aroma has a nice, moderately strong, roast coffee aroma with some malt notes of light roast and moderate chocolate. A hint of green pepper with some light dark fruit esters. Pours a dark brown with a small, thick, tan head with decent retention. Flavor is similar to the aroma with quite a bit of freshly roasted coffee. Medium light roast malt note with moderate chocolate notes. Medium low bitterness with a light astringency. Low dark fruit esters, mostly plum and berries. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium light carbonation. Medium low astringency and low alcohol warmth. An alright coffee beer, but I prefer my coffee to have a character more similar to a cold pressed coffee. The astringency was a bit higher than I would prefer. Malt balance was really nice as were the low dark fruit esters.
