| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 15, 2010 Half-liter bottle. A new produce store in Downers called Michael’s that I might have to add as a place, just for having all three Chimays and Delerium Tremens in stock. And this among the sometimes obscure Baltic beers. Hey, give it a point for nice labeling and matching crown. But as I pour, the cloying smell of corn sweeteners hits my nose. It looks pretty, though, pilsener yellow under a puffy white head. Most of that off smell is driven away, and underneath, I can say it starts to try to make up for it in taste. Fizzy and somewhat malty, much less sweetener on my tongue. A bit of bitterness that won’t admit to being hops. At 5.5% abv, I don’t know about lumping it in the European Strong Lager category, but of those, this is actually one of the better ones. grimreaperguru (40), santee, California, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Huge, dense, off-white head fast gone over coppery-golden beer, well-carbonated. Nearly absent nose, faint honeyish whiff. Sweet and watery taste; pure, but equally uninteresting malts, boiled mushrooms. Light MF, watery. Oh well, I wasn’t expecting BrewDog. As to the Brussels’ gold medal, I was not invited for the jury. Ungstrup (16300), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma has skunky notes of brewing cereal combined with lighter notes of straw and metal. The flavor is sweet matly with light notes of metal, leading to a lightly bitter finish. gam (1215), brisbane, Australia
