Commercial Description:
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Nice golden amber body with minimal head. Caramel and light fruit aroma. Taste is quite nice, sweet fruit and a nice smooth maltiness. Ending is cool and malty.

Dark caramel color with a thin off white head. Aroma is big time metallic, alcohol, sweet malt, hops. Taste is a bit bitter, caramel, biscuit malts, some citrus hops, and a touch of alcohol warmth.

Pours a deep amber into the glass, with an initially decent off-white head that diminishes. The nose is of caramel malts, bubblegum and vanilla. The flavors are of lightly toasted caramel, unsalted crackers, and a light dry hop bitter to close the pull. A medium body and easy quaff accompany light complexities. Very tasty!

12 oz bottle pour to snifter thanks to friend Alan. Almost the look of an apple cider. No floaties but the same reddish brown nontranslucent appearance. Smell of some yeast, caramel, and apple. Thin white head with no lacing. Taste is bitter with hints of said apple and some caramel. I do love the smell of this beer. Very well put together beer with the quick bitter front replaced by the caramel apple flavor with a follow up of bitter on the finish. Reminds me of fall carnival foods. Excellent beer. Really enjoying this one.
