| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2008 deep copper colored body with a light khaki head after i poured it from a growler. The aroma is light oranges with some light biscuit. There is also some hint of Sweet William flowers. The taste is strong orange peels and bread crust. There is also some almond shell in the finish. Hints of black pepper spice in the highly carbonated body. ¾ (5108), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Hazy dark amber colored body, nearly brown with a medium opaqueness. Mild fruitness, but fresh and tangy overall... some citrus orange blends with an assertive bread and cracker malt body... there’s some light prickliness and pepperiness, and a finish of honey and caramel flavored hop cones. Not bad. boto (1368), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Draught @ Jaipur: This one pours a hazy, darker orangish color. There was absolutely no head on it, even though there is carbonation in the glass. The aroma is extremely mild for an IPA. It has earthy notes as well as a hint of pine. The taste is only slightly bitter, even a bit weak by Pale Ale standards. Earthy notes, a hint of caramel, unbalanced. In all fairness, a really good IPA probably wouldn’t pair well with the Indian food in the restaurant, which was excellent. bu11zeye (6134), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 24, 2005 (Draught) Pours a lightly cloudy amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of hops, 12-grain wheat bread, and a hint of spices. Flavor of hops with some spices in the finish. mdi (573), Nebraska, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Tap at The Oven in Lincoln...Certainly can’t give this a rave review at all...murky, very little, if any, head, not much aroma aside from extract and slight hops...drinks like an underattenuated extract beer. That’s about all I can say about...not horrible, but nothing I’d drink if the restaurant offered a decent beer menu...beside this there is overpriced Chimay ($9/33cl!!), Boulder beer, Sammy smith porter, and some Indian lagers...nothing hoppy or spicy to compliment the food...actually the offered Fat tire draft would probably be more enjoyable than this one...if they can’t get it to attenuate, maybe they should substitiute some sugar in place of some of the extract. arjoseph (597), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 6, 2004 I largely agree with Braudog on this one. It is much earthier and mustier than any other IPA I’ve ever had. If the IPA were actually Indian and not British, I would give these guys the benefit of the doubt, but as it is, I don’t think it’s a good attempt at the style. Imagine hops covered in dust from the top shelf of the least used section of the Library of Congress, combine it with cobwebs and some mulch of an uninteresting tree, and you have the complexion of this beer. NO hops smell, and not fresh in a fruity or floral way at all. Very murky in the glass, very heavy on the mouthfeel, with great lacing retention in the head. Not unenjoyable, but not what I expected. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 31, 2004 This pours a medium amber with a solid foam top. I couldn’t discern an aroma to speak of. The flavors here are woodsy and nuttily bitter. This is an earthier interpretation, not the fruity-hopped IPA we’ve come to expect in American brewpubs. This musty beer accompanies the authentic Indian food well, but not may favorite of their offerings.
