Lots of tea and basic earthy bitterness in the aroma; mildly astringent and drying, this smells like cold tea with some hops sprinkled in. Medium mouthfeel: sadly, this follows the aroma pretty closely; lots of bracingly dry tea and earthy bitterness without much complexity or zest; a bit astringent, scraping the palate, hop character without providing much pleasure from it; the first thing I thought of was Brewdog’s Nanny State: hop-tea bitterness without much else; couldn’t drink a lot of this. Medium finish of earthy bitterness, with some fruity notes and toast contributing. ratman197 (3347), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of carmel, light earthiness and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of toffee, carmel and light earthiness with a smooth lingering lightly bitter malty finish. dwyerpg (2592), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

~Bitter woodsy hop flavor, aley. Very light malts.
~Light to medium feel. Bitter finish.
~Nice amber. I really like the hop flavor in this. Malts are fairly mild. Taverner (912), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Pretty good amber! Hoppier than expected - pours amber with white head. Finish is clean. Some nice spicy hop notes compliment the malts, which don’t overpower. jmm635 (284), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA

Not bad, but nothing I will seek out again. bb (3013), Martinez, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Draft. Amber beer with a whitsh head. Light malt aroma. Malt, caramel, and light spice flavor. Medium bodied. Noticeable hops makes gives it a little something. Spice, malt, and light pine lingers. jeff789 (444), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Pours a nice copper/orange with a fluffy white head that disappears slowly... Initial aroma of caramel malts, then more sweetness but not in the bad way, and a nice touch of subtle spice... Not very hoppy in the west coast way, but rather a wee bit spicy without the expected sweetness... Medium bodied with lingering sweetness, the finish is where the sweetness hits as it lingers a bit longer than anything else on my palate, and a touch dry in the finish... Easy drinking, quite tasty nice nice beer...
