Solid IPA. Better than in years past. Must be fresher. Big hop aroma upon opening. A surprise that this is good considering what they ususally put out is disappointing (except Bigfoot).

A really great, solid winter brew from Sierra Nevada. Much like the pale ale with rich hop taste, but has spicy malts that add character. Get it while it’s around!

I cant believe I havent rated this yet, given how many times I have had it. This is a very fine holiday ale - piney, hoppy, malty, nicely balanced and very flavorful. It is always a pleasure to reach for one of these, and I am glad that it is widely available. Celebration is one of the reasons that SN maintains its long-held position as one of America’s best craft brewers.

[2657-20091212] Growler. Grainy orange hops aroma. Clear, amber brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter grainy orange hops flavour has a bit of evergreen. Medium body. Great bitter, very drinkable, good.

Bottle: Hazy, amber coloured, bigger - slowly collapsing - off-white head, sticking to the glass; rich (exotic) fruity and herbal-hoppy to piney nose with some malty wings; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and soft; dry peppery herbal-hoppy finish, balanced by a light malty touch. Fine, moreish brew .......

Dark amber/cider color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of floral hops, some malt, & citrus; Flavor of malt, pine hops, some caramel, and citrus (notably grapefruit); Finish is bitter and lingers for a bit; Nicely balanced; Overall, more malt than I expected from an IPA - but quite good.

Great brew. Tastes more like an imperial red than an IPA. No hesitation in saying this is better than Torpedo, which is a very good brew in its own right. Taste is an 8+, intangibles are so-so.

Mildly bitter IPA, has an earthy light pine aroma. Toward the finish the hops keep coming for a pleasant crisp finish.
