A botlle that containes love - made for a wedding. Nice. Stamped as 6.9.2003. Congratulations. We even get some nakedness on the lablework. This could easely be amor playing around. It presents itself with a cornfield yellow hazy body topped with a neat white head. The nose has a tart sourness that appears very classic topped with some hay. The taste is very bitter and sour but with quite an anonymous finish. The taste of fresh young green grapes are there and appears with a very dry palate. Smooth and nice, but still not as perfect as the blue version. But a fantastic gueuze indeed.

Bottle, thanks to Henrik. I can’t believe I’m getting to open some of these epic beers lately. it’s a sign that this habit has either gone too far, or not quite far enough. Pour is a clear, medium honey gold with a nice head. Huge sour hay and geuze springs forth from the glass. Big nose full of sour barnyard, brett, green apple, and a really noticeable ripe banana. Lush. Damn, this is good. Tart sour hay at first, washes over the palate with a likeness of banana and mango. Very interesting tropical edge for a geuze. Quite spritzy and a touch harsh at times. Very big and interesting, though a lingering off-balance at the end which comes off as a bit harsh prevents this from being epic.

Pours a hazy orange. Tons of carbonation. Flavor is tart acetic acid, unripe fruits, sour grapes, funky tartness, musty cellar. Some hints of fruit, but mostly sour funk. Good beer.

Amber pour. Overcarbonated. Loads of head. Too much. Aroma is funky and fruity with some vinegar qualities. Flavor is sour and just too carbonated. The flavor is pretty damn nice, but its hard to wade through the bubbles.

From a 750ml bottle at The Lion’s Pride - thanks Chris! Pours a light golden colour with a trace of pure white head. Strong, clean gueuze aroma with white grapes, earthy herbs, and a touch of meyer lemon. Flavor is deliciously tart with a touch more citrus and an interesting mineral finish that reminds me of a fine aged Mosel riesling. This is a very fine gueuze!

Pours amber-gold with a thin white head. A a real yardstick of a lambic. Dusty lemon aromas and flavors. Scorchingly tart, yet still quite drinkable. Light dirty undertones add to the interest.

750ml bottle. pours hazed auburn with white head. the aroma has lots of hay and earthy grassy notes with vinegar, oak, and pear. flavors are really earthy with soft vinegar, cheese and perfumey finish. lots of dry and oaky character with pear and white grape as the fruit notes. a thin body and rather low carbonation. very tasty but way behind blauw.

750ml bottle. Huge thanks to Andrew for this rarity...pours mostly clear medium apricot brown with a quickly dissipating white head... Aroma was very green and grassy with a mild funk. Not as funky with a barnyard element as blauw but still pretty appealing. Very earthy grassy and green lambic flavors. Muted, somewhat subtle yet grassy and green geueze qualities. Nicely aged with a grassy/earthiness finish. Very enjoyable but blauw still holds true as the better between the two.
