COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed for Brasserie de Corse
Well-built and designed particularly for those looking for a stronger beer sensation, La Torra ambrée, best drunk at 6 to 8°C, has more body and a higher alcohol content at 6% Alc./vol. than its blond sister (5.5% alc./vol.). Flavoured with Myrtle (a wild berry from the Corsican maquis, picked in the heart of winter), it combines a subtle sweetness with the legendary strength of Corsica.

Smells of dried apricots and plums. Yellow golden color. Fresh fruty taste with expressive bitters(maybe of mirto?) The labels tell us about hops aswell, but not noticeble. Long aftertaste nice refreshing bitters.

(à la myrte) - very clear amber colour with a fine pinky head; fruity aroma of red berries, sticky and oily, very sweet, some finishing tartness and a long sugary and fruity finish - help ! What happened to Duyck ?

Geiserich (5615) - Linz, AUSTRIA - OCT 11, 2005
Bottled:
Foamy brown head, orange-brown hazy color. Intensiv berry aroma with notes of herbs. Quite seet, but watery flavor with quite artificial notes of blueberries and a herbal bitterness. Dry, herbal finish. Quite strange brew with a weak flavor.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, reddish beer with a small, white head. Fruity, dry aroma. Unpleasant sticky sweetness with notes of berries and spices. No real bitterness. Not for me. 011005

Very artifical berry like aroma, with some notes of mint. Amber to reddish body, with a small white head. Light malt is notable in the flavor, the srong berry hints. Becomes too much and too artificial.

Bottled. Brown beer light head. Light ginger beer aroma and a weakish ginger and water flavour. Overall tastes like a ginger beer to me.

oh my god, this reeks. here i’m just pouring it and bam, this damp fruitcake aroma hits me. what could i do? i hit it back. awful to start out a relationship with a beer like this. we both cooled-- though frankly the aroma was still poking me and leering in a antagonistic way. i wanted to compliment it’s appearance and tried to think of synonyms for it’s bright, vivacious pour. it has some little salvador dali melting clocks of lace, but generally a retiring head. it’s pale orange color reminded me of yams-- but it’s more than that-- it smells like yams too. yams, rosemary and dog biscuits. not surprisingly after that comment, it hit me again. now it’s true i wouldn’t know a myrtle from a muffler shop, but i’ll give it the benefit of assuming that it’s the source of that sweetness, and not an injection of corn syrup dictated by a focus group of fifteen year olds. though it’s a puny bottle, i think i got into it’s super sweet rhythm. medium carb and body, watery feel, with a carmel sticky bun flavor and somewhat interesting citrus bitterness, i kinda stopped hating it. i almost liked it. almost. remember it hit me twice and never apologized. at least i get credit for a corsican beer. WHAT?!? corsica’s NOT a country?! fuck! !
