Commercial Description:
We invite you to experience our Amber Ale, a beer as beautiful to look at as it is to drink. Our recipe blends our own pale malt base with three specialty malts and the freshest "American" noble hobs. The resulting deep, rich color of Olde Towne Amber Ale means great flavor, leaning toward the malty side with just a hint of hops in the bouquet. Olde Towne Amber Ale is a feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. Tasting is understanding.

Smells of raisin and flowers. It has a distinct taste, which I did not like- kind of sour and tart. Very flat. It seemed remarkably similar to a different beer from the same brewery.

Pours out solid amber in color with minimal head. Smells like a dirty wet dog. Really the aroma is quite grotesque. Flavor though is a bit different. A bit sour, sweet, honey, malts, pretty tasty.

Pours amber with a tannish head. Smells of yogurt, pepper. Tastes of citrus and tarte with a breaddy finish. Some nuttiness present as well. Very vegetal as it warms up.

Bottled 2/05. Pours an ugly brown with no head. Somewhat sharp aroma marked by light malt and semi-citrusy hops. Fair flavor. Malty and lightly sweet, with just enough hops to be noticed. Medium, slightly over-carbonated body. I’m not a huge fan of these beers (see my pale ale rating) but this was drinkable.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a small foamy brown head with little retention. Aroma of hops is quite pronounced for an amber ale. Taste is on the thin and watery side with nice dose of hops at the end. Won’t go down in history as a great beer but I have seen a lot worse.

pours a pretty redish brown, no head, baby lace. Oddly enough, it stinks. Seriously, it smells kind of like food waste... weird. Despite that, and even odder, it tastes pretty good. Kind of like a lite smoked porter. Is very smooth, not that refreshing. Hints of grain and corn. Surprising beer in many ways. Beer of the month club...

This poured a near headless amber and had a cloyingly sweet malt aroma topped with a nutty, pungently bitter smell. The flavor settles down a bit, just the toned down sweet malt, although the bitterness returns in the finish. This is my first beer from Alabama. It can only get better.
