tightslice (2828) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 21, 2022UPDATED: DEC 21, 2022 Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, FL. Aroma is raspberries, horse hooves, oak, spiced dark bread. Taste is tart and very dry, fruity balsamic and raspberry syrup drizzled on woody bread. Excellent but I actually enjoyed the Wild Wild Batch 200 more.
ANZUShophunter (3611) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2022UPDATED: MAR 26, 2022 From bottle (2017 vintage) in Belgian ale glass. Pours murky brown w/an inch of tan head that dissipated rather quickly, aroma of raspberry, brown sugar, aniseed, woody undertones. Salivating tartness turns from berry toward vinegar.
yngwie (22205) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 30, 2021UPDATED: JAN 30, 2021 Bottle, 75cl corked. A lightly unclear brown beer with a minimal sized beige head. Lots of dried fruits in the aroma, prunes and raisin, with hints of vinegar and lots of raspberry. Some wood and funk. It's full-bodied, faintly warming and smooth on the palate, with lots of dried fruits in the flavor. Vinegar, wood, raisin, prunes and shitloads of raspberry in the flavor. Quite delicious, but perhaps a bit strong on the vinegar. 210130

BVery (13631) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - AUG 10, 2019UPDATED: AUG 10, 2019 Tap at Grizzly’s. Dark colored pour with a creamy head. Very sour. Raspberry. A little funky.
WortMeister11 (258) - TAIWAN - JUL 26, 2019UPDATED: DEC 15, 2019 Aroma: noticeble raspberry, ripe cherry, oak
Appearance: hazy dark reddish-brown color with a one-finger tan head.
Taste: ripe cherry, balsamic vinegar, cherry syrup, oak, medium-high sweetness, medium-high sourness, very low bitterness
Palate: medium-full body, medium carbonation, low alcohol sensation for 8% ABV, medium astringency
Overall: nice sour beer with high fruitiness and complexity. Raspberry is more pronounced in the nose than in the taste. Dark dried fruit or toffee flavor can hardly be detected.
Foffern (3224) - Bodø, NORWAY - APR 10, 2019UPDATED: APR 10, 2019 Bottle at home. Harvest 2017. The colour is deep reddish brown with a small beige head . Aroma of oak, balsamico vinegar, forest floor, brown sugar, dates, black currants and cherries. Sour flavour of oak, vinegar, lemon juice and red currants. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Really interesting and complex aroma. The flavour is a bit unbalanced and too sour in my opinion, and malt are falling behind. Maybe a year or two more in cellar would tame this ale more.
bytemesis (15313) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JAN 27, 2019UPDATED: JAN 27, 2019 Bottle. Pours clear mahogany with a medium kinda fizzy tan head that dissipates to a ring and some lacing. Aroma is raspberry, tannic, oak, roast, more raspberries, bugs, farmhouse, must. Flavor is light plus tart, light plus funk, loads of raspberries and leathery tannins punctuated by notes of musty basement. Medium body, bubbly carbonation. Quite nice. One of my favorite dark sours to date, methinks.
